I don't think either of you guys or any of us here know the definite answer to if ND will take Starks or not.

This is where I'm at. I don't think anybody on here can say with certainty whats going to happen with this because it hasn't been resolved.

ND isn't going to take Starks. Move on. The last offense wasn't the first. It simply was the one that put the nail in the coffin so to speak. Multiple offenses.

Can you harness your future telling powers and get me those PA Lottery numbers? Kind of in a rut...

I just want to point out for the millionth time that just because a recruit says that we're still on him, doesn't mean that we are. All of the reports of our continued pursuit are coming from comments directly from Sparks. This is the exact same thing that happened with Yuri and it ended up being completely untrue.

So before I see another "I trust the staff" (one of the silliest comments ever, imo), may we consider the chance that Starks is making claims that aren't actually true?

i am sure alford still calls him now and then to chat and stuff but i would sceptical whether he is actually recruiting him anymore. What is going in Stark's favour is that he has this school term to prove he can be a good guy. If he had of gotten kicked out of school in his senior year he would have been pretty screwed.

Imagine Notre Dame accepts him, and he commits. First thread in the history of Irish Envy in which people are upset about a commitment. CANT WAIT!

I heard a rumor on the internet about something related to this, so I know what will happen.

(If you think this sentence is taking your side, re-read.)

I have not heard 1 thing about ND actively recruiting Starks. Like someone said Alford talks to him, but thats Alford. He is a great man and cares about people. The kids are not just a # to him.

Pandfan and Grey, I fixed TP's post and therefore deleted your posts. Just in case you were wondering.

There's no need to squint in an effort to see why many schools have taken a step back when it comes to the recruitment of four-star running back Nathan Starks. Notre Dame and Oklahoma, however, have stuck around. And good for them. You never really know the players you cover, but it's not as though Starks is a convict. He was kicked out of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman for several violations of school rules, but his behavior isn't such a concern that teams should be totally dropping out of his recruitment. The Irish or Sooners will get a steal with the talented Starks, who made a few off-the-field mistakes but is hardly a menace to society.

per rivals, same as Shultz

This timeline fits a Denver Post article on Starks from 3 days ago.

CHSAA officials did not respond to The Denver Post's requests for comment. If there's arbitration, as is expected, a decision would be released by late this week.

Nathan Starks vs. CHSAA is biggest off-field battle in prep sports - The Denver Post

I liked reading this:

"It gets colder here, it's harder to breathe," he said. "But I like it."

As well as this:

"Nathan's a good kid who works very, very hard," Bruins coach Dave Logan said. "He's a little quiet and doesn't say much."

Starks had been on the radar of multiple college powers but acknowledged it has cooled this fall because he hasn't gotten onto the field. But Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Washington remain very interested, he said.

Although I agree that he will probably never be admitted to Notre Dame for the reason you cite (ala Randy Moss), isn't it a little hypocritical on the part of a Catholic University to write off someone who makes a mistake in life considering the 1st Christian surrounded himself with people just like Nathan Starks? Whatever happened to "Let those who have not sinned cast the first stone"?

The sheep has strayed. Should we not be helping him to return to the flock if he is remorseful and understands the gravity of his mistake?

This terrain's been trod. Do we need to go here again? We still don't know all the facts and we still don't know the true status of his recruitment, if any, so there's not much to talk about that isn't already in this thread.

Man that would be a kick in the junk if he ended up at OU after they just beat us.

As I posted in the other thread, ND has been really ramping up contact recently per ISD and there are some in his inner circle that would really like him to go to ND. If ND is a serious option, it will come down to ND or Oklahoma in the end.

I have no doubt that the staff has stepped up contact here, but I want to know if they ran his situation by admissions first or dies this have the potential to be an 11th hour letdown.
