Brother of current Southern Cal commit and Notre Dame target Chris Hawkins. Armond didn't play football his junior year of HS but has started to receive interest from some PAC 12 programs after getting off to a good start this fall.

Will visit with his brother and the ND staff will be looking at his film.

There is a quote in the ISD article saying "This could be what it takes" to flip Chris to Notre Dame.

These guys are right down the road from me... I'll have to look at my scouting schedule and see if I'm anywhere near one of there games... may be able to check them out.

Going to cover what I did in his brothers thread.

Armond missed his JR year for some reason (unknown). Getting DIV 1 attention in PAC 12. If he has great year, offers will come. We could be looking at BK finding another diamond here.

Hope this plays out in our favor!

Honestly, even if his brother sticks with Kiffy, I still think this kid is a great talent.

That would be awesome. If this kid has the potential to contribute, even if he's a project, I'm ok with extending an offer to get the brother. If he is not even potentially a DI-FBS-caliber player, then I'm not. The trouble is I have no idea which it is. It would be great if someone could get a look at him. I guess there's no film on him if he didn't play last year.

Can't see at work. What are your thoughts, fellas?

Definitely not as polished or tenacious as his brother, but that could be attributed to missing a year of playing. Hard to tell how big his upside is (never really displays top speed or shows multiple hip turns), but is a physical player and a solid tackler in the secondary. Gets his head around and plays the ball, which is certainly a plus.

Agree with this. I think he shows some hesitation in the head on tackles (mostly waits for them to come to him instead of attacking), but as Ironman stated, could just be the year off.

Rough on the edges as far as technique. Was using contact as a way to keep the receiver close. I want the corners to be physical but it does scare me when they depend on it to not get beat. It appears Armond does this once or twice in his film.

Hard to say what the staff will think as we have guys on the board that, imo, are much better.

At the 1:15 mark he takes the receiver about 5 yards out of bounds. Pretty funny.

It will be interesting to see what the coaches think. He has some skills, the question is what is his upside.

Hard to call it a highlight reel when the 4th 'highlight' is the him giving up a 10 yard completion. Looks athletic though, would love to hear more about why he didn't play last year.

Definitley seems timid when it comes to contact. This is probably him just not wanting to miss a tackle and give up a big gain. He probably gets thrown at alot with his brother playing the other side. I wish there was a clip of him running full out so you could gauge his speed. Not bad but he seems tentative which makes sense I guess.

Nothing special about his highlights to me. A solid high school corner.

I don't think he will get an offer this weekend as we are still in the thick of it with much higher rated prospects.

However, if he were to end up Irish, I believe our staff could develop him into a solid contributor.

After reading Tunnel Vision I feel like there is no chance we would use one of our limited spots on a project like Armond Hawkins. The staff is being really stingy with the remaining spots. Maybe on signing day, if we have an open spot left, then we can take Armond, but I don't think we can take him just to get Chris when it's this early in the game.

Completely agree. Keep contact open with both, and see how it plays out. If we whiff (please God NOOOOOO!!!!) on Mac, Luke, and Moore then press them and see if it's still enough to get them on board. We need to take two more corners. Preferably elite ones.
