and we all knew it was coming... they are too stupid to not do something like this....

GoBlue.jpg

They will pay for this...

*edit, didn't see it on the last page. Deserves to be reposted either way. I hope they took that flag and hang it in our locker room before the game. They don't need a reminder about how big this game is, but they need to actually physically see this.

I am curious as well... any university...

University of Tennessee. I was born a ND fan, I'll die a ND fan. Nothing else in sports, or in life, gave me the same consistent tingle of magic that ND football does. I love my alma mater but when it comes to football I'm married.

Agreed. Sitting in my first ND game in UM stadium and seeing the Gold helmets running out ... I knew it was a foregone coclusion I would be Gold and Blue through and through

Phil Steele's prediction: ND - 34 UM -20

This is an underdog series as there have been 11 outright upsets S/'92 incl each of the last three years! Last year UM was at home in the 1st night game ever at Michigan Stadium. ND appeared to have it won numerous times. At half ND led 17-7 with a 15-3 FD edge and then led 24-7 after 3Q’s. ND fumbled at the UM7 with 6:08 left and UM took the lead with 1:12 left on a 21 yard td pass. ND drove 60 yards and got a 29 yard td pass with :30 left to apparently re-pull out the win but UM got a 64 yd pass to the 16 and then opted to go for the td and got it with :02 left. ND finished with a 28-16 FD edge. Now ND gets this gm at home and at night. Last week for the 2nd year in a row ND dominated the LOS vs MSU (held them to 50 rush yards, 4 sks) in the 20-3 victory as the Irish got their first win over a Top 10 tm s/’05 and are 3-0 for the first time s/’02. UM meanwhile continues to be the DRob show for the 3rd consecutive year as last week he accounted for 397 yards (averaging 350 run/pass ypg) and 4 td’s in a 63-13 win over UMass. He also remarkably 2 wks due to penalties had more total offensive yards than Michigan had! Robinson has been a thorn in ND’s side each of the last 2 years accounting for 948 comb rush/pass yards. ND has lost 3 straight games in this series by 4 ppg all by allowing a UM td in the final :30. With ND’s fielding one of the best front 7’s in CFB, I will call for that trend to end here as they finally contain Robinson.

Anyone wanna sell me 2 tickets, side by side, anywhere in the stadium, for this game? $300 for the pair?

"From the Ticket Office- ND v. Michigan LIMITED tix will be available TOMORROW at 8:30AM EST! Visit the tix office or call 574.631.7356 to get yours! GO IRISH!"

I don't know how much of a longshot that will be, but if you get in early, you might be able to score.

You can also always try your luck and try to scalp at the game. They very well may never get under $300 for a pair until after kickoff, but at that point, if a scalper still has tickets then $300 is better than $0.

Good luck.

Thx. Appreciate it. I'll try the phone call in the AM. I turned down a pair at $300 bacause I couldn't make it down, and as always, now I can.

Yes, you executed your game plan to stop msu perfectly, no argument there...but the gameplan to stop Michigan's offense and Denard is at the complete opposite end of the spectrum (if borges is smart, BIG if), and we have not see you play a team with the same skill positions that this team has. Most obviously at the QB position...

eloquently put.

now zip it.

I don't usually condone running up the score.

That being said, let's whip these f***ers until they don't remember where they are.

Defense, I'm specifically looking at you. I want Denard face down more often than he's standing upright. I want him picking grass out of his face mask and teeth all night.

Take no prisoners, show no mercy.

Beat Michigan.

Limit chunk plays and force some turnovers and we win by 10+.

This.

I'm still terrified though. Notre Dame's tackling in space has been bad, and I don't see this secondary having a good day Saturday. The Wolverines will get their chunk plays, I'm afraid.

I fear that the complexity of Greg Mattison's defense might force Golson into more errors than usual. And all it would take is for those errors to actually be taken advantage of (they weren't by Purdue or Michigan State, on all of Golson's bad passes), and Michigan will go home as the victors.

I do think Michigan should run the ball well and that should set up the offense for a big day. I will be disappointed if Notre Dame scores less than 30 points. I expect 35+, honestly.

This game is within the margin of error, and thus all of Saturday will be hell for me. It is only exacerbated by the fact that my roommate, whom I will be watching the game with, is a huge Michigan fan.

Please, Jesus, let us win. PLEASE.

Basic karma and the law of averages says Notre Dame should win... but my mind is basically in the exact same place that Buster's is...

I see where you are coming from. The one thing about Golson that gets overlooked is that he throws the ball away. Maybe a little too much but I've seen him throw it away more then Rees did. He doesn't force the issue and hopefully will stay in the pocket a bit longer then he has been before rolling out.

Did you mean Notre Dame here? I was under the impression that they weren't going to be able to run on us? (Except Denard's scrambling)

Gentlemen: in the interest of maintaining IE population by avoiding pre-game suicide, I say to you --- We run the ball, and then we win.

Mighty Michigan is 104Th out of 120 teams at stopping the run. They have given up 211 ypg and a 4.26 ypc. We are 23rd out of 120 teams at stopping the run. We have given up 96 ypg and a 3.04 ypc.

And I don't want to hear "but UofM played Alabama and Air Force!!". We too played an academy and one of the best rushing teams in the nation. And doubtless no one would care to rate Massachusetts greater than Purdue.

We run the Ball. We Win.

It wasn't good against Navy and Purdue, but it was massively improved last week against the Spartans. Russell, Jackson and Shumate were taking heads off on the edges. Michigan shouldn't have scored more than 20 last year, and this year's ND defense is miles ahead of last year's squad. My only concern is Kelly utilizing the run game properly. I like that he's giving Golson a lot of opportunities, but Alabama taught everyone that if you run the ball on Michigan, they're good as f*cked. From what I saw, the gameplan to contain Denard looks legit and should work with the size and speed ND has up front. Michigan doesn't have much at WR to threat the Irish secondary. If the CB's are on it like they were last week, it's gonna be a LOOOONG night for Shoelaces and the Skunkbears. ND 31 Michigan 14
