Oh man, I would rather forget that. We lost the next game to BC right? And then what, three more games, including the bowl game. And then we spiraled down into sub-mediocrity. So I am cool with not comparing this team to the 2002 team.

I was in Tallahassee for that double digit underdog game. ND can out like a rabid dog and took it to the Noles on both sides of the ball. They were disemboweled in the 3rd quarter.

5,000 ND clad in green rocked Doak Campbell Stadium chanting, "Here Come The Irish!" silencing the Nole's tomahawk chant.

The next week the team had severe adrenalin let down. They were flat. Willingham clad the team in green not to motivate the team but to recognize or honor the green clad army of fans that were turning stadiums green. "The Shirt" was green that year.

BC's coach, Conklin, told his players pregame that ND only wore green for teams they were afraid of. His team bought in. He used it as a motivational tool where Willingham wasn't. More significantly, ND had QB injuries and was forced to play a walk- on QB, Pat Dillingham, who unfortunately played like a walk-on. There was no Hollywood finish. Dillingham wasn't Rudy and Willingham wasn't Devine.

If the '12 team plays OU with the fierocity of the '02 showed against FSU, it will carry through to an undefeated season. This team has leadership on the sidelines and on the field

Can anyone fill me in on how good Oklahoma's defense is? All I know is they have a prolific offense, but haven't heard anything about their defense.

Beat Kansas 52-7 yesterday with the help of two defensive TDs. (Only reason I won my fantasy match-up.)

It's solid with the chance to be dangerous, I'd say. I think they've improved a bit recently. They haven't allowed more than 24 points (Loss against KSU). They are 12th overall in points against averaging 15.3 a game.

Key here is GREAT defense (stop the run and create turnovers in the passing game), and run the ball which is definitely do able. They gave up 207 rushing yards to UTEP and 223 to KSU.

Just because this OU team already has one loss does not mean they aren't one of the best in the land. It took KSU a GREAT game to win by just 5.

Oklahoma's D got it done against Texas Tech who look pretty good on O. They also kept the Kansas State game relatively close and K State has been smoking teams the past couple weeks. It's kind of hard to get a read on the Big 12 as a whole though. All of the teams seem to put up points at times against each other, however the only out of conference games are against some pretty bad teams. The only point of reference I can seem to find is K State. They whooped Miami by about the same score we did and they handled Oaklahoma.

Shutting down Kansas doesn't ammount to much. After watching a couple of their games a fair and balanced assesment would conclude that they completely suck.

Of course, 2 DTDs is still impressive though no matter who the competition is though.

Tomorrow we'll do a full physical exertion and "get after it" physically. Will be last test for us.

Says Everett Golson will be pushed cardio-wise Monday, which represents the final test for full clearance.

Team knows they haven't arrived, despite being 5th in the country and 7-0. If you think you've arrive you're in peril.

On L. Jones: It's balance on offense, not just Jones. One of most balanced in the country. Has weapons to be successful.

Golson has done well at MSU and in hostile environment. We think he'll build on his experiences.

When things get tough QBs like a running game behind them. Golson knows he doesn't have to do it himself.

on Golson's mentality/big stage: should not have any problem playing in a big environment at Oklahoma because he's already done it.

Two missed FGs should have been touchdowns, we can't settle for field goals. We're looking for how to put points on the board.

Pretty solid defense. 10th in scoring and 15th in total yardage with just over 15 points and 300 yrds a game allowed. On the positive side they only have 12 sacks registered for the year, about 80th in the nation.

Amazingly though, they are only the 4th best defense (In terms of yardage allowed) that we faced thus far this season. BYU, Mich, and Mich st all are allowing fewer yards.

Makes you think if Notre Dame's offense is really not that bad, week in and week out we face a tough, rigid defense. The only breaks we got, Miami/Navy, we dominated.

Message this week will be the same. Have to play better.

There were signs of team believing we could win last year. Each year is different, winning on road vs. MSU instilled confidence after Purdue.

Want guys to compete and prepare well. We'll win enough games if they do that.

Brindza was off on his line a little yesterday on missed FGs. You have to be right on. He's mentally tough. Not afraid.

Players understand they have to go on the road vs. top 10 team and play well. we've done this already.

Oklahoma jumbo package: they're physical up front. Big offensive line. similar to stanford's package.

Golson took reps last week, but more 7 on 7 and team, not game situation stuff.

BK on '08 Cincy game vs OU: it's just a great gameday atmosphere. Like ND, UM, MSU...just a good college environment.

Will still focus on ball security and making good decisions with Golson.

We thought Tuitt was complete player when we recruited him. He's developing. He's committed to being a better player.

BYU wanted to go fast and we had communication issues between safety and CBs yesterday.

Goodman was ready to go yesterday if needed, but wanted bigger body with daniel smith yet.

BK on BYU's second TD that was reviewed and upheld: I didn't see it the same way.

Diaco has grown as a play manager and experience calling games. He's adapted very well to managing game based on opposing offense.

Don't pay much attention to BCS rankings. We understand big picture, but won't change how we go to work each day.

BK on worries on not controlling ND's fate: Clearly that's why there's going to be a new BCS. They don't want any teams left out.
