ND wouldn't be recruiting him still if they didn't think admissions would accept him

Correct me if i Am wrong but didn't admissions accept Tee?

He wasn't fully accepted. He was pending acceptance and it's a clear example that the staff will reach on a kid that could end up not getting into school.

i hear ya, but wasn't tee more for academic reasons?

not sure where starks stands academically, but if his grades are in order it may be easier for him to get enrolled than tee granted admissions is willing to give him a chance considering his past.

We don't know that admissions has considered giving him a chance, just that the staff seems to hope they will. Tee's dismissal was academic, but one that was a standard of admissions all along. In this situation, I doubt that admissions would give the benefit of the doubt to a kid that was expelled for dealing drugs. That doesn't mean that the staff wont try to get him in, as evidenced by their efforts to do the same thing with other recruits.

Except we don't know that was the case, as I've pointed out endless times.

Let's take out the fact that a simple google search will tell admissions everything they need to know regarding his dismissal and make the unlikely assumption that he was expelled for something completely aside from drug dealing.

How many expelled athletes has Notre Dame admitted in the past?

I would hope they look at more than a Google search and the myriad articles of hearsay.

I have no idea how many expelled students they've admitted.

we cannot say for 100% certainty what the admissions board will do as none of us(assuming) are members....2 sides of the coin...either its no or yes but it doesn't do anyone any good to continue going back and fourth on it....speculation on both ends

That being said, we can certainly make the assumption that this staff will try to slide a questionable student profile through admissions, As evidenced by Tee Shepherd. We can also look back and see if we have ever admitted a football player that was expelled from high school before. That answer is "no".

So while it is speculation, it is one is based in strong historical evidence and the other simply in hopes of landing a good athlete.

I think we have all seen how this story ends...

Source? The university has been around a long time.

Why don't you find me a football player that we admitted after being expelled. I don't need a link to know that fact. If you can find one, i'll give you a million vbucks.

I am surprised at the staff's renewed attempt on Starks. This has the potential to give ND critics some easy fodder on compromising its' perceived high moral standards when ND suits to benefit from doing so. Maybe it is more of an indication of what the chances are currently with other RB prospects if they are willing to go down this road with Starks.

Going back to the pages and pages of discussion. We don't know the full situation. I'm sure the coaches do. While I'm sure RB availability in this class plays into it, I also think the coaches, especially TA has a comfort level with Starks and his behavior going forward.

I could care less about the critics. There will always be critics of ND. Would you want it any other way?
