That is certainly over the mark, there is plenty of stupidity that needs to be called out today.

In a related topic, there's something that's irked me lately. Back in the 90s it was popular to say everything was "retarded" if you didn't like something or you felt a concept was stupid. That was a case where PC culture got something right, and people generally drifted away from saying that. Today "retarded" has morphed into "austistic," so when someone is being stupid the kids today ask "Are you autistic? Do you have autism?" Now THAT is truly stupid...I completely don't get the thought process: "Well, I can't say retarded anymore, so I'll say autistic...that's certainly better."

I'm not one to play the offended role, and I'm probably a little biased as my son is autistic, but it just makes me ask...why is that any better? Quite frankly the only reason I find it offensive is because my son is pretty awesome, he's quite bright and a very sweet boy, and it's sad that some stupid, insensitive millennial is being compared to him. It's meant as a put down, but quite frankly I'd think higher of these twats if they were in fact autistic...they'd probably have far more redeeming qualities (I'm referring of course to the person giving the insult, not the person being bullied/insulted).

I have not heard that before but if I did, I would go all Debbie from this is 40 on their ass. No place for that shit.
Maybe you shouldn't be so
comfortable with yourself. You know
why? You look like a miniature Tom
Petty. How's that feel? Huh? You
think that haircut's cool? It's
not. It looks like you put your
Justin Bieber wig on backwards. You
still comfortable with yourself?
Why are you wearing a tank top?
Huh? So you can show off your bald
pits, you little hairless wonder?
Cool tank top, man. So next time
you think about writing something
nasty on my daughter's Facebook
page, just remember me. Remember
me. I will come down here, and I
will fuck you up.

I was told over Memorial Day weekend you can't say "stupid" anymore.

I'd say about 90% of people I encounter are stupid, so this is going to be a huge fucking problem.

This is my issue with people getting upset with the word "retarded." Is it a nice word to use? No. But these same folks call people dumb, morons, stupid, etc.

All of these words are used to mock something no differently than the term "retard" or "retarded."

Next on Fox...Live from Little Rock is the next great American competition. Gone are the bikini's as we welcome English Lit discourse to find out which of these fine women capture you heart and personify today's American Woman. The Miss Diabesity pageant is next!!

I doubt Fox would be the broadcast partner....

To your point, in 20 years, there will be no beauty pageants, no football, boxing, or any other contact sports..... but hey, you'll probably be able to buy legal maryjane, and smoke up while watching curling, and the Miss Well Rounded pageant where everyone gets a trophy.

We replaced "retarded" with "mentally handicapped" then "mentally challenged." In each case, the next "nicer" term soon takes on the exact meaning and connotation that the previous one had until it's no longer considered polite or softer. Heck, "retarded" simply meant slower and was used to replace "imbecile" or "moron" years ago until it became just as "not nice" as its predecessors. No matter what "nicer" term you use, it will eventually become just as "not nice" or impolite eventually.

"Disabled" is now "people with differing abilities" in the same radio spots I've been listening to for years... the entire problem with politically correct speech is exactly what you said. It's a moving target.

Speaking racially, I've always found it funny how saying "colored people" went out of vogue YEARS ago but then was recently rebranded "people of color" by individuals that want to divide "white" from "everyone non-white" when talking about oppression. It's literally the exact same words that were offensive and racist... just reversed... and somehow that's not only OK, but the outright accepted politically correct term.

As long as there are people who want to be offended, and unfortunately idiots who want to offend, the moving target will just keep moving. These days, it seems there are more people who want to be offended.

I have no problem with calling a spade a spade. My son is autistic, you can say he's autistic. I'm not gonna get mad and expect you to say he's "On the spectrum."

Just don't call some idiot millennial "autistic" because he's being stupid. Just call him stupid. My son isn't very verbal, but he's awesome at a lot of other things and he's a sweet boy, he's not a dick...it's more of a slight to my son with such a comparison quite frankly.

A bit like a time my son was with three of his friends and one of them blurted out "retarded" to describe some other kid. I went Dad ballistic on all of their asses, lecturing them on how it was inappropriate and unacceptable.

You see, I have a nephew (by marriage) with Downs. My son's cousin. That was about 20 years ago, and my son hasn't used that term since. I don't know about the other kids.

I hear feckless c**t is acceptable now.

I started using the word feckless in 2017. It's a good one. I also like malfeasance, which like feckless, has become one I use regularly since last year.

As a fan of English soccer, I'm well aware of the other word. Our "mates" across the pond toss it around like "jerk" or even "the" or "and." It's a staple. Heard my dad use it once as a kid in reference to Bobby Knight of all people. That was thirty years ago.

I guess if people don't want to be called stupid, they should stop being stupid. I live in an area full of rubes (another good one) but they don't even really try and deserve to be called stupid rubes. Not all of them, but the feckless ones for sure.

Just a quick morning rant:

For those who may not be aware, Jack Dorsey (owner/CEO of Twitter) tweeted a receipt from Cash App regarding a recent purchase at Chick Fil A. The main stream SJWs went after him. How dare he support an anti-gay company, especially during Pride Month. The twitter mob essentially forced Jack into an apology and media outlets have been running with this (non) story.

Here are some facts:

Jack owns the Cash app as well.
Jack likes chicken sandwiches.
Since 2012, Chick Fil A no longer uses is WinShape Foundation to support anti-LGBT groups.

When will this madness end?

There was a big New Yorker article about Chick-fil-A's "creepy" infiltration of New York recently. They say that if you go into a Chick-fil-A, you are essentially brow-beaten with religious motifs and symbolism...

I have never been in a Chick-fil-A and felt like I was being hit over the head with Christianity... I've only ever felt like I was hit over the head with really good manners, and really good spicy chicken sandwiches.

Also, Polynesian Sauce or GTFO.

I have eaten Chick-fil-A a lot. What religious motifs and symbolism is there displayed in a standard corporate looking restaurant of their's? To tell you the truth, while I like their food, another reason I like to go there is they are generally pleasant, competent, and good at pumping a large volume of people through the lines quickly. While numerous other fast food places feel like the services times have slowed since I was younger, Chick-fil-A get you through the line and gets food in your hand, to borrow a phrase "freaky fast".

I don't really think there are any. They say there are religious motifs, but don't really cite anything specific... they just talk about portraits of the "Eat Mor Chikin' cows as if the cows are supposed to be brainwashing you or something.

That article was legitimately retarded. Chick Fil A has good fast food and awesome customer service. That's about it. NYC should consider themselves lucky CFA has blessed them with a few locations.
