He'd be my second choice only because of my affinity for booze, dance floors and scantily clad freaks. Long live Gronk!

Also one of them has a future Hall of Famer throwing him the ball. The other...well, has Andy Dalton.

Do we know how his elbow is doing? When they said nerve damage it scared the sh*t out of me.

Local Cincy guys and coaches were raving about him after their recent workouts. They're amazed at how well he's moving this year. Seems like he's in good shape. All signs point to him being good to go.

Question... do you know if they play Canadian rules football? Or American? I just realized that the highlights appear to be 10v10.

I googled this and found a smorgasbord of answers.

Yes, Canadian high schools play CFL rules.

Yes, Canadian high schools play American rules.

Apparently it varies by school league/district. Some leagues play 4 downs, some play 3. You and I both counted 10 players aside in the video you posted in June. That's neither as CFL is 12 and American ball 11. It may be due to school size as in Texas where in rural areas, smaller schools, they use fewer players.

I did find one guy who claimed to have played at Hamilton and recalls 4 downs.

Regardless they seem to use the longer, wider field regardless of the number of downs. That promotes passing but also means receivers are less encumbered trying to get separation.

And this comes from where? Interview?

Jamie Uyeyama, who grew up in the area Claypool is from. It's 11 v. 11 but still a lot different strategically than most American schools.

Abbotsford is about the size of Fort Wayne, maybe a little smaller, and is sort of "Vancouverish." But its southern boundary is the Washington State line. So it is as close to the US as you can get in Canada; maybe that has an effect on the rules.

I don't mind them trying him out at WR since they said they would and I am a believer in keeping your word however, still think he should end up on the defensive side and just terrorize opposing QBs.

The Google search indicated BC generally plays American rules.

Makes sense, most of the BC population is closer to the US border than the Ontario Population! Surprising, eh!

Claypool reminded me of Allen Lazard and I think someone on here may have mentioned it as well. FWIW, comparing their Opening combine results (Ht, Wt, 40, Shuttle, Powerball, Vert, Overall):

Claypool: 2016 WR - 6-5.5, 214, 4.66, 4.31, 33.5, 35.1, 99.21
Lazard: 2014 WR - 6-4.5, 207, 4.65, 4.26, 40.5, 34.6, 114.21

The Opening Rankings Update: The Receivers

After his performance at The Opening, Chase is now a :s::s::s::s: on 247 (91 rating) and 247Comp (.8940 rating).

Notre Dame commit Chase Claypool has made the move up from three-star (89) to four-star (91) after his strong week in Oregon. Claypool is one of the nation's most physically imposing receivers and we could see him growing into a tight end long term. He's also extremely athletic though and he's only just beginning to move towards his potential. He could rise even higher with a strong senior showing.

What's wrong with these people? Haven't they heard he's a LB!

ESPN updated their rankings: :s::s::s::s: 82 WR #20 | #158 Overall

Edit: I considered posting the updates to each committed profile, but that would just spam the board. Perhaps if there's a mod with some time this week, that can be done without the unnecessary bumping of posts.

FWIW, Claypool seems like the biggest riser in this update among ND commits.

Love it, one of the biggest risers overall, not just among ND commits.
