Crazy how teams see the talent and the kid doesn't. Feel like this might be his last shot

His size is elite and physical skills. Had issues in Chicago. Should be interesting in Buffalo. Allen has a cannon to deliver him the ball.

This is the only reason he's getting another chance. NFL gobbles up "potential" like M&M's. If he was 6ft 190lbs, he'd be out of the league. Make it work Chase!

I wish Chase would give up his partying, sell his designer clothes, hire some grounded life coaches and go on the grind; completely austere and divorced from the lavishness that has reduced his play. He needs to rebuild himself and show that his second act can be his best.

I would much rather have seen him find success in Miami than Buffalo. Plenty of excuses in Chicago for a WR but not with Bills or Dolphins.

He had no excuse in Chicago. He was a healthy scratch despite the Bears having next to zero talent behind DJ Moore. Dude wasn't getting on the field to even use Justin Fields or Luke Getsy as a viable excuse.

I do think it's plausible he just didn't care in Chicago due to how bad the team was. Imagine he'll care a bit more in Buffalo as they are a real contender. Just cannot see McDermott signing him if he didn't feel he was in.

He didn’t seem to care much in Miami after the Bears and that culture was polar opposite it of that in Chicago. I hope the best for him but I don’t have a ton of faith he will turn it around. Didn’t Buffalo get rid of Diggs and Gabrial?

Yes. Diggs is in Houston. Gabe Davis is in Jacksonville.

Honestly I was a bit surprised he was signed with a team

Edit: I didn't recognize that it's ending his season. Tough break

Most likely will get an injury settlement and could come back with any team, even the Bills (I think).

There's a whole genre of Claypool diss videos on YouTube and they're all entertaining. The top 3 WR in the league claim is so embarrassing. Tomlin clearly couldn't stand him, too.

He and DeShone Kizer are two guys that should have put their heads down and work on their rookie contracts, but got distracted by TikTok and NFTs, respectively.

I will always believe that Harrison Smith was trying to actually help Chase out on that play, ripping the ball from him to keep him from wasting precious clock. You can’t convince me otherwise.

That was not Kizer’s issue at all. Hue Jackson ruined him. He needed to sit and learn for a few seasons. Jackson threw him to the wolves.

Fair enough. He and Claypool were both kind of pretty boys so I grouped them together.

Tbd to Kizer and his mindset, he might just not have an NFL caliber QB. Maybe though.

Claypool certainly had the physical tools and just couldn’t get out of his own way

Chase thought he was a top 3 receiver?

Kizer wasn’t ready for the NFL and was told as much by BK. If I remember it was a weak draft class so he made the jump knowing he’d be ranked higher than the following year. Getting drafted by the Browns and thrown in right away on an 0-16 team didn’t help him at all but he probably wasn’t going to work out anywhere in retrospect.
