Interesting factoid on Eddy:

- Has officially visited Notre Dame twice (Jan 11,25)

- Has officially visited UCLA once (Jan 23) and unofficially once (Jan 24) *can someone explain that one?

- This will be his first visit to Bama this weekend.

These dates are all taken from 247's timeline. It would be great if someone could explain if the UCLA official/unofficial is some type of typo or if he indeed took an unofficial the day after an official.

If all of that is correct... then we are the only school that he has officialled twice to.

***Edit - this has to be wrong. I checked out the NCAA guidelines and it clearly says that a recruit can only officially visit a school once. What is up with 247's timeline?

Yeah that list is weird. Either you copied that wrong or someone over there screwed up royally.

* You can only visit a place once on the team's dime. Other than that, you're paying you're own way every time, meals included. That's why when guys like Ty Isaac and Nelson Agholar visited USC on their own dime multiple times, it tells you something. That's why I never got excited about those two, 'cause they were always going to USC.

* EV has only been to ND once.

* EV was at UCLA recently on an OV for the whole weekend, and loved it there. Of course, he's the type of kid that falls in love with every school, and has admitted as much. The OV's are a great time and the school puts its best foot forward. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe EV had been on campus before.

* EV has been to USC multiple times and already used his OV there. He always promised USC his last visit but that all changed when he decommitted. He was on campus with all their studs 2 weeks ago and still kept his ND and apparently his Bama visits, which is good news for us. I think it's a UCLA-ND battle, with UCLA in the lead. Bama will be interesting. He'll love the visit, but I don't see him as a Bama kid.

Gerry Hamilton and JC Shurburtt were on Bill King's show this morning and talked about EV and how he tends to love every place he visits and that usually guys like that end up reaffirming their commit OR choose to play at a school close to home. Obviously this would favor USC and UCLA.

However, in a previous segment this morning Gerry talked about the closest thing to a sure bet in recruiting is to "bet on Mom". While definitlely not a sure thing, kids tend to go where they know they have Mom's blessing.

If EV does really love all of the schools that he visits. I would tend to think that will mean he will weigh Mom and Dad's input heavily. The big question is EV's Mom really in our corner. If so I think she is the difference that moves us to the top.

I posted several times that when he changed the dates of his visits and didn't give USC the last shot they were out. Hangin with Kylie here only could have reaffirmed those feelings.

Compare the work we put in compared to bama on Eddie ....not even close...if he goes it will be for fun and gramps gets to take some pictures...

His mother loves Notre Dame.

He is all Irish fellas. And will be playing just as much as Day this year. They will be a very good 1a and 1b combo.

Go Irish!

You're getting my hopes up.

If you're wrong I'm going to come down to St. Louie and punch you square in the face and kick you in the gonads then I'll turn around and say Go IRISH and happy posting as I leave you in pain.

How is Prevot split b/w A&M and USC with no-one picking ND? All guesses are Hollins and Fitts to UCLA, not a single person picks either to ND? Half have Folston to Auburn and three of eight pick EV to ND. Anti ND bias or are we overly optimistic?

I have to say EV is looking better every day. If we get him, keep Folston and get nobody else I will be a happy camper. However, I have a hard time imagining we don't pick up at least one more somewhere.

Well for one Prevot isn't visiting ND so the only choices for him are that he sticks with USC or commits to A&M.

Hollins is 100% out and going to UCLA and didn't even let our coaches in the front door.

Fitts, IMO, is going to UCLA. I've always thought that and his basketball game attendance/tweets last night just reinforce that for me.

Folston was considered at best 50/50 until this morning... now more people are confident in ND with him reaffirming. Still not out of the woods IMO.

3/8 EV to ND seems pretty darn reasonable.

So I don't really see any ND bias... I think they're just about spot on with these guys.

That one guy Kynon Codrington is either going to look like a genius or an idiot. Seriously bucking some trends there.

I believe that he works in their mail room and was asked the last minute to make some predictions due the person that was scheduled to fill out his predictions was on sick leave.

I believe he used the Diane Chambers method of picking between two teams. Bears vs Dolphins, that's easy, Bears are much more ferocious then Dolphins.

Spot on Lax on all accounts. I was surprised to see UCLA in play for six of these guys. They are having a great recruitment season. Poised to give SC a run for a few years to come.

I would normally be ecstatic that UCLA is taking recruits away from USC, but this cycle they are also competing with us for recruits. That does not make me happy at all.

Hey, didn't they already give SC a run this year? Just kidding.

My gut feeling with big Eddie V is he is all Irish as well (i think he sees the big picture)... That being said, I had this same feeling with Seantrell Henderson* and thought he was gonna shock everyone and pick ND as well....Im not feeling Fitts or Prevot at this time, i wold very surprised/somewhat shocked if any of them ended up Irish.

*my Henderson optimism seems so silly when I look back today

My optimism on EV stems from my idea of him as a person, and the fact that his mother is supposedly on board. If both views turn out to be fact, I like the chances of us getting a late NSD LOI.

Really glad ND isn't going down this route.

I got into it with the reporter who initially tweeted about Baylee Vanderdoes getting an offer from the Trojans. Very few athletes merit scholarship offers from big D1 schools as freshman. What are the odds that she's the next Skylar Diggins? Much more likely that this offer is conveniently timed to influence her big brother.

ND is the only place that he and his sister would both have a shot at NC Rings.
