Yep, you guys did sort of make life miserable for us in the 70's. When you weren't beating us on the field, you were jumping us in the polls. Cost us at least 2 NC's back in the day. That's what makes the game interesting and every victory sweet, though.

We welcome fans of our opponents who can add to the discussion. I wonder why anyone from Bama would want to post here at this point though. I have never felt like posting on a site of a team ND beat. (maybe USC, but never did) Bama owned ND in the NC game, what do their fans think they will accomplish by posting here now? I highly doubt many of us are posting on the Oklahoma or Michigan forums lately.

Just out if curiosity who would you compare EV to as far as previous recruits ? Elite as Tuitt or more like Sheldon? After watching his film I can't get a feel on who to compare to. BTW that's not a shot a Sheldon I love him as a player as well.

He's like what Lynch could be if he could stop the run. No seriously he is a little shorter that Tuitt but a larger frame. Can be moved inside as well as play DE, which is what we are recruiting him as, and rush the QB.

IMO, more like Tuitt. He's a bonafide 5 star, all sites agree one of the best Dlineman in the country. WTS, Sheldon is no joke and will be starting as a sophmore for a reason. I should have specified this is from a talent standpoint not an appearance

Well, I'm not a film expert but 247's composite rankings have him as the 6th best player in the country and the No. 1 defensive tackle.
That's better than Day or Nix or Tuitt or Lynch. Among ND's defensive recruits of recent vintage the only ones in that ballpark are Te'o and Jaylon Smith. If he's a 310 lb Manti Te'o I want him on our team, not the other guys'.

I don't know. And Alabama partisans will say I'm biased. But he just doesn't seem like someone who picks Alabama. He stays in California or he comes to ND, IMO. And in that I like our chances.

I listed a few predicted scenarios on how NSD will go for us.
Please note-my predictions are predicated on the recent events surrounding Fitts, Prevot, and Hollins.
I think the odds landing them are less than 1/10, (Fitts 1/7) hence I have kinda written them off.

My four scenarios w/ % of likely hood.
1). We miss on EV but keep TF 50%
2). We miss on EV and lose TF 30%
3). We land EV and keep TF 28%
4). We land EV, keep TF
and pick up 1 out of the 3
(Fitts, Prevot, Hollins). 2%

I want scenario 3 to actually happen but with recruiting the way it is now who knows.

With some of these updates it sounds to me like this:

1) We miss EV but keep our class - 70%
2) We land EV and keep our class - 30%

Folston reaffirmed w/ the staff. Maybe I'm setting myself up for a disappointment, but I'm going to trust him until further notice. Hollins is UCLA. Prevot isn't visiting. ND is probably too far for Fitts. Pretty much leaves us with EV or bust....although retaining our current class w/o adding anyone else is far from a "bust." Just my two cents.

Edit: If I'm on this staff, I'm putting ALL of my efforts into keeping the current class and getting EV. I wouldn't waste my time on anyone else. (Don't get me wrong, I'd love Fitts to be Irish...but I just don't see him leaving the West Coast). It's time to go all out for that one 5star stud we need.

Interesting factoid on Eddy:

- Has officially visited Notre Dame twice (Jan 11,25)

- Has officially visited UCLA once (Jan 23) and unofficially once (Jan 24) *can someone explain that one?

- This will be his first visit to Bama this weekend.

These dates are all taken from 247's timeline. It would be great if someone could explain if the UCLA official/unofficial is some type of typo or if he indeed took an unofficial the day after an official.

If all of that is correct... then we are the only school that he has officialled twice to.

***Edit - this has to be wrong. I checked out the NCAA guidelines and it clearly says that a recruit can only officially visit a school once. What is up with 247's timeline?
