Navy OLine v ND DLine

Navy OLine v ND DLine

Navy's OLine is small with the Starters averaging 280 per man. Navy has no TEs and they have no WR over 205 so the only additional blocker they can muster is backup FB, Swain at 245.

Their C, Fleming is battling an ankle injury, his backup up, Ryder, has a shoulder issue, the RT Gaston has a hamstring problem. All are listed as probable against ND.

ND's DLine averages 287. The DLine only has a 7 pound advantage per man but they're usually at a weight disadvantage. Navy's C Fleming with the ankle issue is going be giving up 20 to 40 pounds depending on his man. Gaston's Hamstring is gonna get stretched. He has to leave last week's game in the second half. Against a 4 man front they have numbers to help out. Against a 5 man front they should be manhandled.

Game time weather (8pm EST) @ FedEx looks to be mid to lower 50's with showers likely and winds near 20 mph.

I thought it was going to be much worse. I just got an NOAA update predicting 19 ft waves on Lake Michigan tomorrow. That's big surf for Lake Michigan. Superstorm Sandy's waves were @ 21ft. Should be a raw day in South Bend tomorrow.

Was just thinking it would be really funny if Navy came out in a spread or something. Reynolds just slinging it around and the whole world in amazement and confusion haha

Until we realize what's going on and start to **** them up of course.

That was pretty ridiculous, especially the imitation Notre Dame girl bit. To be fair, there appears to be a long tradition of ridiculous "Spirit Spots" at the Naval Academy. Hard to tell exactly if they also consider them ridiculous, or if they've just spent too much time on submarines. Look up their Gagnam Style on YouTube.

I hope the Irish got out of South Bend last night. My friends in Michigan City are reporting historic winds and waves. 70 mph gusts and sustained winds @ 40mph.

This storm is worse than forecast but they are still calling for mid 50's, showers and winds of under 20mph for the game. I won't be surprised if it's worse though.

I would say count on it to be worse. And FedEx field is terrible in the rain.

You know what sucks. On gameday I work 8-4 days then have to be back for 12-8 midnight shift. My only time to sleep will be durin the game to where I will
Prolly be so pumped I can't sleep. Also since I have to be at work so soon I can't have any beer. I know we have a better team than last year but the fact that we have played all weak teams this year kinda close makes me worried. I'm more worried about this game than I was FSU.

Rice and Michigan were close?

No but Purdue was too close for comfort for a while, Syracuse was close, and UNC was ridiculous. Ever since those games teams we should've punished hung with us. I know you can't destroy every team but one of those three should've been a blowout and I hope we don't have another nail biter against navy.

Good morning Irish Nation..game day again, finally. After that bunk initial ranking, I think the Irish takes Navy's option and shoves it up their a$$.

EG and the Irish run it up today. ND wins BIG.

42 - 17

Purdue and Syracuse were never in doubt, not seriously. Purdue hung with us for a half but the second half belonged to us. The Syracuse game was "only" a 16 point win because of a boneheaded pick six at the end of the game by EG. UNC was the only legit really lose game and really we led by 14 with like 2 minutes to go.

Our team came in at #10 in the initial poll that counts. I'm pretty confident ND puts the curb stomp today on Navy.

ASU next weekend too...

Big day for Golson, Folston, and Bryant. Two weeks to stew over that loss, a poor ranking in the CFB Playoff Top 25, this team is going to be angry and hungry. Defense will be stout, and the offense will be fun to watch.

Good Guys- A lot
Slightly Less Goodguys- a little

Current odds: ND-14.5 O/U:54.5 NAVY+475

Navy will do what they do and gain a bunch of yards. But, I think the D can contain them enough to sufficiently keep them out of the end zone.

O should have a day today. Drop a double nickel and win by 35. Go Irish.

Current weather showing 46 degrees, 20% chance of rain and 20 mph winds at 8:00. Ground game will have to come up big. Passing may be a little tough.

I don't think so, for ND at least. EG has the strongest arm in the country and he'll have 2 to 3 WR to choose from on every throw.

I don't know about the weather factor, but Navy's secondary can't cover or tackle. They were by far the least impressive element of their team in the game I watched.

Unless it is gusty, I think our passing game is likely to dominate. I don't think they have anyone to stay with our first three receivers.

I don't think the Middies will be able to get a pass rush, even with a good scheme.

Seems like this series alternates between a tight game and a blowout.

ND: 45
Navy: 13 (missed extra point)
