Really, really, impressed with the way this team played after Michigan. From the end of the Va. Tech game through today. A lot of previous Notre Dame teams crap out a couple losses in there, or fail to show up for the Camping World Bowl.
These guys didn't. They played their best ball of the year in November and today with nothing to play for but pride. That says a ton about their character, and the culture of the program right now.

Congratulations on the win today and finishing out the year strong. Lots to be proud of this season and plenty to build on for next year.
33-6. Ton of talent coming back. Recruiting in top gear. Really happy with where this is heading, and I’ll see ya’ll in Dublin in eight months

Lotta folk eating crow in this thread. Taste good boys?
Hats off to a game bunch of college guys-11-2 we are proud!
When Is that one?
Bama will probably tank It. Make us and everyone they beat look worse out of spite.
Saban's a piece of work...
He would love to hold the 'Belichek' CFB role. But the Russians are scaring him these days.
Steroids In CFB Is going to be a past time discussion.
Same stadium, Citrus Bowl, 1:00 January 1st.
Hoping Bama wants to show the CFP Bowl committee that a 2-loss Bama should have been in over a 1-loss Oklahoma and they come out and punish scUM and their pussy QB.

Good overall effort and performance through all quarters.
I guess the bad practice narrative was clickbait...
Not according to the ones who reported it. Prister & Sampson caught a lot of shit after the game but stood by the fact that BK wasn’t happy w/ practices this week. Maybe BK was playing possum or talent gap was just too much to overcome for ISU. Either way, I jumped on what they said & assumed the worst. I was wrong.
And as you can see they are nowhere to be found on this site. If it had been close or a loss they’d be all over trolling.

You'll all be most welcome.
Ask Prister & Sampson WHAT coach is ever happy about practices that go well....
Apparently they never listened or know who Lou Holtz is.....
I can't tell you HOW MANY TIMES Holtz would tell a reporter before or after a game, "Were not that good of a team"..., "We aren't playing to the talent level we have in the locker room"...
Love the old man to death and what he did for ND Football but he always used to tell reporters sh!t like that to keep them off his back and out of his craw....
Yes, I’m the way I am towards ND opponents specifically b/c of Lou. Whether it was Rice or Michigan, he was going to make their opponent the ‘85 Bears. He knew right away that most teams treated ND as their Super Bowl and that he could only get 85 18-21 year olds mentally prepared for so many games. The ones where they weren’t, he had to hope superior athleticism won the day.
Go ask his ex-players what they dreaded most: practice for the week leading up to USC/Michigan/Miami/FSU or practice leading up to Navy/Northwestern/Purdue/Rice
Re-watch some of the game and I love that they decided to go under Center more with the run game. And I’m not surprised that Tony’s 2 best runs came when we did so. I thought we’d see more of that throughout the year and hopefully we see more of next season. Sounds like it was a point of emphasis.

I think part was true and part was clickbait. The only bad practice I heard about was the first one after BK "let them be college kids" and they parties too much the first night. From what I heard, the practices after that were without issues. Could be wrong
COACH KELLY: I'm just so proud of our football team, my staff and coaches. You know, 2019 will be one that I will always remember for a group of guys that just loved to play the game. They had such a strong brotherhood. They did not listen to what the naysayers had to say about them. The negative tone, the negative people out there. All they cared about was playing the game. It was clean. It was about competing, always looking to better themselves.
Even this week, you know, ‘Notre Dame is not ready to play.’ They used that as another form of motivation to show people wrong. You just read this team wrong and it's just so satisfying that this group has been rewarded with 11 wins because they have thought only about their teammates and how they can work to get better each and every day. So they overcame adversity, lived the life lessons of it. They're not perfect. They never pretended to be perfect and never wanted to be, but always strived for excellence. So I'll always remember this group as a special group.
Chase, I wanted to ask, what will you take from this game? What will you remember from this game?
CHASE CLAYPOOL: Let me ask Lid that. What do you think?
KHALID KAREEM: I would say just the fun that we had throughout the week. I mean, practice is a little tough. I will say that. But just the fun and, like I said, the relationships that we've made this whole week, going to Universal Studios, just having fun with the guys -- because at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. I mean, I haven't had fun like this since high school. This is what it felt like, just out there, playing on Friday nights. Like, that's legit what it felt like, so that's what I'm taking away from it.
CHASE CLAYPOOL: Same thing, yeah. When you know it's your last year and your last ride with the guys, you kind of do stuff and you're like, ‘Wow, that's the last time ever that I'm going to be able to do that,’ so then you really cherish it. So every little thing we did, from going to Shake Shack, going to Universal, doing everything -- Best Buy -- it was really special because, you know, you're not going to get those moments back. And when you're a senior and it's your last time, you understand that and you realize that so you cherish it a little more.
COACH KELLY: And that's the point that I was making earlier with this group. They're such a mature group that you can allow them to go out and enjoy the Camping World Bowl and the experience. They didn't have a curfew, per se, on the first night here, and they went out and enjoyed themselves, because they're mature and they made good decisions, and they came back the next day and, you know, they had to work. I mean, they had to work hard. And the next day, they worked even harder because they wanted to be able to do everything. And that's why it's been so enjoyable for me to coach these guys because they know they have a responsibility. They want to enjoy the experience because they've earned it. But they also have to come back and they have to put in the work and they have to put in the time, and that's why they will be great representatives of Notre Dame as they move past this.
