And as to Wooly: I like him; can't help it. Sometimes the board needs someone to try to put the brakes on continuous disruptive postings, which is how I've felt Wooly typically has gotten into things.

That was pretty tame for things he has said in the past. Plus it was towards Wiz so that leash must be very very short.

I'm not trying to stir shit for the record... and appreciate all the mods... I'm just trying to understand how you guys handle this... long to short, is there hypothetically a number of other regs who are one post away and have zero clue? If someone reports a post, asks for an infraction or if mods are actively discussing how to handle poster who is seen as a potential problem is any communication to that poster involved before the ban is dropped?

Yeah honestly I don't want to "how the sausage is made" here but we're discussing whether the ban length is consistent with how we've handled similar transgressions in similar forums. We try to discuss things as much as possible before they're handled but sometimes people need to take care of things in the moment, and in those situations we discuss after the fact. There's no perfect way to deal with things and all we can do is try to be as even-handed as possible.

It's another to be so miserable that you can't help but troll whenever possible.

If he was in a debate, he would refuse to acknowledge opposing viewpoints. He'd move the goalposts, or else simply disappear from a discussion if he knew he had lost a point of contention.

Drive-by inflammatory statements are a hallmark of trolling.

He can go stew with the other lemmings at ND Nation dot com and learn honest discourse there... lol jk, they don't do that there
