What are the Colts doing? They need OL and front 7 help....oh well, I'm not complaining. Just doesn't make any sense. I think there's an old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

yeah i dont get it at all. some real quality OL left and decent front 7 players. I honestly think they fell in love with the speed of this kid. While its another weapon for Luck, he has to be standing to throw him the ball

didnt stay up to watch it but i was surprized back the lack of trades in the first round, alot of the picks were very predictable too and had been mocked for weeks by various draft guru's. Its a pity the Eagles trade never happened that would have shaken things up a lot.

I was hoping for a defensive player too. Damn it, I really liked the options at 23. And really what good is that 5th rd pick they got in exchange? It's possible we get somebody who can contribute in the NFL but I'm not holding my breath.

Surprised Malcolm Brown was still on the board at 32. Might be the best pick of the night

What's to like in that pick? We are no better than we were at the end of the season with that pick. We have a billion holes, specifically on defense. We had zero pass rush last season and we passed on one of the best pass rushers (Beasley) in order to get a project WR. The dude lined up 95% of the time on the right side and only ran a handful of routes. He played in a basketball on turf offense. Fox doesn't do that. He had PFM and didn't do that.

We could have easily traded down and got a similar player. Which wasn't even that big of a need. It's only a slight need because we traded away our best WR for nothing.

Immediately after the BM trade, wide receiver became a need because of Alshon's impending free agency. White is frequently compared to Julio Jones, who everyone agrees is pretty good. The other comparison I see is Deandre Hopkins, who is also pretty good. Getting an elite playmaker who is just now scratching the surface of his potential will pay off for years. I trust Gase to turn White into a stud at the next level, just like he did with Demaryius Thomas.

The Bears only have a handful of guys worth retaining long term so if Jeffrey leaves for more money elsewhere the FO and ownership are truly lost.

I agree that da Bears need help on defense. This draft just so happens to be loaded in pass rushers (as well as wide receivers). I would look for Pace to draft defensive players now, where the value is better. Pace (and many others) evaluated the prospects and deemed Kevin White to be the best prospect left on the board. White has the potential to make everyone forget about Brandon Marshall and certainly has the ability to usurp Jeffery as the #1. In fact, I've seen multiple people call for White to be the #1 already. The best teams have great talent because they take the best player on the board. In this case, it was White.

IMO, it was a panic pick after they thought williams was going to slide to them.

They are going to look even more stupid if Jalen Strong is still sitting there when they pick at 39.

The moment Williams went that pick should have either went D (Beasley, also wouldnt have been upset with Waynes) or traded.

It's that if you're looking to reload and make a run you keep Marshall and try to fill one of your many, many holes with this pick. If you're looking to rebuild it would be nice to see some shift in philosophy on roster construction. And the defense is so, so bad right now. Literally every position needs upgrades.

And it is a WR heavy draft. Lots of options in second round at WR would be plenty serviceable and potentially dominant (DGB or Strong stand out to me).

I have to admit, I am conflicted. I can see huge potential in White (more next year than this year) and I think he has more upside than Cooper. Paired with Jeffrey that is one hell of a tandem to build around and potentially recruit a top tier QB to play in Chicago. Add in the young O-line and you have an offense well positioned to plug in a new QB that isn't a moron.

I really like the DTs on the board, don't think the Bears go there after picking two last year but Goldman and Phillips would look good in the middle of a 3-4 defense. I am not sold on the pass rushers still on the board.

Landon Collins picking up a Bears jersey today is about the best scenario I can think of but I think they take a pass rusher. Probably depends on how they feel about some of the safeties likely to be hanging around in the 3rd and 4th round. I think it is a position you can find value late but Collins is about as sure as you can get to fill a big position of need. The pass rushers I don't have the same confidence in.

Ryan Grigson is starting to act a lot like Bill Polian. Taking Dorsett out of Miami was a total surprise given the Colts are well stocked at receiver and need help on both lines and at safety.

Detroit will be happy with Tomlinson at #28 overall.

Philly did well with Agholor at #20.

New England got a great #32 pick, but I think there is good value in the next two DTs also. Those who passed to wait until round two get a nice consolation prize.

Colts pick was stupid. Why they don't take Brown or Landon Collins here is lunacy, especially given their needs. Phillips or Goldman won't drop to them so DT quality will be the biggest drop off. I think you can get good safeties in later rounds so value might not be in Collins. If you had to have a WR, I think you better options than Dorsett available at the end of the 2nd round. Overall, crappy.

For a franchise that has been drafting strictly on highest rated, it was a strange change of pace to go based solely on need.

With that being said, guard was a major need for us this offseason and picking up two guards between the trade and the pick is solid roster management.

Tough call. Seems like he has some issues but he's also head and shoulders better than the next best pass rusher, in my opinion. The risk may be worth the reward to a team in need of a pass rusher, like the Bears who have the 39th pick.
