I'm not arguing. I'm just curious. Do you think Oklahoma State is a better team than Alabama and would beat them if they played? And if so, why? I totally agree with Mizzou being the most overrated, though. but I think your pure hatred for Alabama got in the way when you made that comment. I don't think one can objectively say that Oklahoma State is clearly a better team than Alabama.

It doesn't matter, it's all subjective. What do you mean by better? That OSU could never beat Alabama? Alabama lost plain and simple that is fact. Who would win, could win, doesn't matter. I think San Francisco was "better than" the Ravens last year, guess what? It doesn't matter. Any given Saturday.

If "Team A" is ranked ahead of "Team B", doesn't that mean that voters most likely think that "Team A" is a better team?

I mean Oklahoma State, OSU, they've won 7 in a row since their loss, why should Alabama not fall beyond them? I welcome the playoffs, so we can stop all this, one loss $EC team is "better than" your one loss team or even your undefeated team.

Middling big 12 team that would be a game over 500 if they had stayed there... #SECschedulessuckass

:)

Same thing was said about the Aggies last year, on this very site.

The fact is that Mizzou took their lumps for a year and now they have proven they can play pretty good football....at least this year. I think people really need to wake up to that fact. Mizzou is EVERY bit as worth as the other teams in the top five, easily.

They lost their ONLY game while starting their BACKUP QB...and no matter what you want to say, Rees was the STARTING QB for the team this year, so I do not want to hear that ND won eight games with their backup QB, because that is not true, either.

Just on their resume for THIS year alone, Mizzou definitely belongs in the top five, for now.

Wouldn't it be wise to look at each team's 1 loss? Alabama lost to a team that is currently 11-1. Oklahoma State's lone loss came to a team that finished at 4-8. As of right now, Alabama has more wins over bowl-eligible teams. Make no mistake, I don't think Alabama or Oklahoma State are great teams.

It would be wise to dump this system, IMO, it undermines the fact that any team can win on any given day. I am tired of giving one conference preferential treatment, lets expand the playoff system and see how it shakes out. If an $EC team wins on the field give them the trophy, if everybody was wrong and TCU or Boise could beat a big boy on one night in January, as fans we'll all be better off for it. I mean stranger things have happened, two middling Big 12 teams went into the $EC and in two years one team that was 4-5 in the Big 12 almost won the west, and the other that was 5-4 in the BIG 12 won the east and might win the whole thing right?

The $EC needs to hope this whole conference expansion thing blows over before they pull in two really good Big 12 teams that will come in and really spank them, and then the whole house of cards will collapse.

Just kidding...sort of.

You may not want to hear it but it doesn't make it any less true.

No, those 8 wins and 4 losses were a team effort. I'd like to ask you though...do you think Tommy would have started at Missou? Do you think he would have been the #2 backup? I'm not knocking Rees here, in fact I support him because he IS our starting QB. I think a number of factors pushed Tommy into the starting position, not just the fact Golson was suspended. Tommy was probably never meant to be the starter, and yet that was his fate/destiny. Despite the circumstances, I wouldn't want anyone else at QB this season given the current roster.

I'm no SEC honk and have bagged on them plenty, but Alabama's resume is better than Okie State's and they deserve to be ranked higher. That loss to WVU kills that debate IMHO.

I'm routing for a game against Wisconsin or a rematch against Michigan.

Wisconsin because all of my friends are Badger fans. Although that'd be a very tough game, but they play to our strengths IMO.

From a recruiting standpoint I would love to see tOSU go undefeated and still not make the NCG. What a great sales point for the staff to try and keep kids from going to any B1G team.

Playing in the B1G may as well be playing in the MAC if this scenario happens.

I like this...although I can't see it happening.

I don't like OSU...but when was the last time they lost a football game...come on now...they've beaten everyone the schedule gods put in front of them for two years...IMHO they deserve, and will get a shot to play Auburn or FSU. I think it'll be FSU vs. Ohio state...Ohio State will get beat...finally.

FSU winning a Natty and Florida having already sucked ass...I see that actually leading to a Florida recruiting area that is even tougher...Muschamp will have a sense of urgency like no other, and playing time to offer, FSU a natty. Florida is about to go the way of Alabama in terms of recruiting I think...Time to hit Georgia and the Carolinas real hard...:) ACC deal looking better to me today as a recruiting "get" than when it was cut.

Interesting that the media is telling Auburn fans to watch out for Mizzou, but then most are all expecting an Osu victory. Osu has not played/beaten a top 20 team this season and has played pretty much head to head with the few decent teams they have faced. When is the last time they have had to play back-to-back tough games? I'm very interested to see how they play against a physical MSU team after the emotional win against UM.

I guy can dream right?

OSU squeaks by MSU and Auburn absolutely takes it to Mizzou. Then the coaches poll(which is a farce), gets all blown up by the SEC and ACC coaches loading the top ten with their teams and OSU falls in that poll.

This is my master plan to really get all the OSU fans up in arms!

You'll be a bad Irish fan if you even think about rooting for Ohio State.

I really wish we could've played ohio state last year for the title instead of bama. Would've been satisfying to beat them. I just had to ask about this because I despise Sparty as well as the buckeyes.

(I actually kind of like MSU minus the whole 50 yard line incident. They are my favorite big 10 team.)

I gotta agree. I probably wouldn't have said this about 3-5 years ago as we were consistently losing to MSU quite regularly the last decade and the 50 yard line incident was pretty stupid on their part...good thing we got them back the next year and made them look like fools  Theres good history there, better than Michigan, and we have ties to MSU after Michigan tried to blackball them from joining the B1G like they did with us, so we started scheduling each other.

I'm rooting for Sparty against OSU. I don't have the contempt for MSU that I have for Michigan. I think of MSU as the good rivalry, as opposed to the bitter blood feud that is ND vs UM. Besides, MSU beating OSU with the Irish being Sparty's only loss makes our boys look better, however tangentially.

I like MSU now that Dantonio has seemingly classed the place up a bit. As long as BK still has their number, they're perfectly fine by me.

I'm rooting for MSU and ASU hardcore because it would be awesome to beat two conference champions this year.

Last year we beat the PAC12 champ (Stanford) and Big 12 co-champ (Oklahoma). Has anyone ever beaten multiple conference champions in back-to-back years? I seriously doubt it.

Most teams don't play remotely difficult enough OOC schedules.

Looking at you, SEC...

A good portion of the SEC doesn't even play a overly difficuly IN conference schedule...
