How do you know? Our so called soft schedule didn't seem to matter much last year. And still, we have played - and beat - more top 10 and top 25 teams in the last five years than the Irish. Good converstion but the merits of your argument don't hold much weight. Enjoy.

Sagarin ranked our schedule last year as the 16th toughest and ND's as the 19th. In 2009 when we went 14-0, Sagarin ranked ours as the 2nd toughest in CFB.

Agreed. Plus as long as Jameis is eligible, I'd take FSU over Auburn or Mizzou all day.

My honest opinion is that FSU would beat tOSU, Auburn, or Mizzou 9 out of 10 times. I think the Bama-FSU matchup would've been about even.

Just me and ACamp having a little fun. He knows he wants some BBQ and is just warming up to me before his trip to T Town next season.

( I didn't look at the wins)

You are correct. I thought we were talking about their three out of four run through last year so I didn't even think about this year. If I am counting wins for the five years, I'd have to count the four wins in 2009 games and the three 2013 wins. Makes their November record since 2009, 15-5. Very very good, but not "lights out" by any means and, to your point, not what you would expect for a team who won three national titles, considering late losses are supposed to knock you out.

If you can ever get him to a Southern bbq restaurant, he'll leave saying, "Roll Tide y'all!" Nothing in the world better than real Southern bbq! KC has some killer bbq too, though. I was in KC last week eating at Arthur Bryant's, one of the best bbq joints in the country. My wife called and hearing all the noise in the background, asked me where I was. I sort of hemmed & hawed and acted guilty, then told her I was at a strip club. She said, "Liar! You're eating at some barbecue restaurant without me, aren't you?" lol

 That's pretty good.

I'm a bit particular about my BBQ. Some joints just dump a bottle of BBQ sauce on some ribs, or steak and people will call it great BBQ. To me, that's just disgusting and ruins the meat. I prefer places with homemade BBQ recipes, lighter sauce that's not just slathered on, and the right spices. If all I taste is sauce and couldn't identify the meat with my eyes closed, the restaurant failed imo.

Absolutely! I agree 100%. There's a world of difference between roasted meat with sauce poured over it, and real barbecue that's been lovingly and expertly seasoned, rubbed, basted, and smoked by a master. That sort of barbecue is almost a religious experience!

Any hobnobbing by ACamp is reserved for Finebaum and Nicky. Somewhere they have to have a some Asian in them.

I would also keep ACAMP away from the cats, otherwise you could have this on your hands in a couple of months.

I want FSU to steam roll whoever they end up playing. Plays up the ACC, NDs future partner. Fuck everyone else.

From earlier today:

The latest Nick Saban-to-Texas rumors made it all the way to University of Texas president Bill Powers' desk.

Powers, in a Thursday interview with the Austin American-Statesman, denied that the school was pursuing the Alabama coach to replace Mack Brown, whose fate as the Longhorns head coach has yet to be decided.

"I've never met Nick Saban. I've never talked to Nick Saban. We have not hired Nick Saban," Powers told the American-Statesman. "Mack's our coach, and I can say flatly that the rumors we have hired or come to an agreement with Nick Saban or even talked to him are false."

So much for that little rumor.

The devil is in the details..

"I've never met Nick Saban, however, our back channel representatives have."
"I've never talked to Nick Saban, however, see above."
"Mack is our coach, for the time being."
"Rumours we have hired him or come to an agreement are false, except when we do"

That's because Texas AD Steve Patterson is making the deal

Why would Saban leave 'Bama? He's got to be a god there. If he wanted he could probably put a provision in his contract that the last scholarship available will be awarded to the recruit who wins a "Thunderdome" death match. "Two four star recruits enter and only one leaves!"

They are 7-5 in November games since 2010, but 38-6 (with 3 national titles) in that time frame-which includes their 3 wins this November.

Ergo, unless they played 8 games in Nov. 2009, they cannot be 15-5 since then.

What is Kelly's record in Nov. in the last four years? I think it is about the same, if not better?

That's why the International BBQ Cooking Contest is down South, just not Tuscaloosa. Never tasted anything there that rivals the BBQ in Memphis....and no I am not talking about the BBQ from The Rendezvous or Corky's. You can go almost anywhere in Memphis and find great BBQ. People know how to do it right down here.

Memphis definitely has some top-notch BBQ, especially the ribs, and you're right - you can find great BBQ almost anywhere in town. They are SERIOUS about doing BBQ right! Some of the best BBQ all across the country can be found in some real out of the way hole-in-the-wall type places.

Dreamland in Tuscaloosa is very good, but not great, imho. Archibald's across the river in Northport is better. Bob Gibson's in Decatur, AL is about as good as it gets, especially their smoked chicken. Arthur Bryant's in KC and some place in Memphis whose name I can't remember are the other two best I've ever eaten at. Some places down in Texas are supposed to be just as good, but I haven't tried them yet.

Dreamland is pretty damn tasty

I know this is heresy from a Bama guy, but I'm not wild about Dreamland. It's very good no doubt, but not extraordinary in my opinion. Could just be a matter of taste. Everyone else seems to think they're one of the best. If you're ever in Huntsville, don't bother going to the Dreamland there. You'll be VERY disappointed. No better than Applebee's.
