Bull. Tom Brady doesn't talk like that and he actually IS Tom Brady.I guess the positive way to look at what he said is you want your QB to think this way.

"He’s not as good as he should be because he’s not committed to the game," one AFC executive said of Kizer. "He’s committed to building a brand. He wants all the things that come with being a starting quarterback but doesn’t want to put in the work." Added one NFC personnel man, "(Selfishness and money are) what drives him. It's all about him. Prima donna. Thin-skinned."
Lol wat.
DeShone Kizer and Diverging Traits – Pre Snap Reads
Btw, I found this to be an interesting take article on Kizer.
Chances are Kizer will be drafted higher than he should be and forced into a situation where he can’t develop. The NFL doesn’t have a development league so there is no clear path to success for the former Notre Dame quarterback. It could be worse though, he could still be listening to Brian Kelly.

Ouch, that last line lol
I'm a big Kizer fan and wish him the very best in the NFL. With that being said, his chances of getting drafted in the first round are <10% IMO. I thought from the very beginning that he needed another year of college football. He didn't show me last year that he could make all the throws necessary to be a legit starter on Sundays.
In my opinion, a great scenario for him would be the Giants, Steelers, Kansas City, and Arizona. The problem is that neither the Giants or Steelers will be taking a QB in round 1 and Kansas City and Arizona like Mahomes more.
It'll be interesting to see where he goes. I hope he goes to an organization that is stable and is at least competitive in their division.
After looking at the Pre Snap Reads write up on Mahommes... I don't see how anybody can seriously like him more than they could like Kizer.

I agree that he objectively doesn't seem like a first round pick. And I personally think he has a miniscule chance ofsuccess anywhere besides a great organization. The crazy thing to me is that compare/contrast Kizer to guys like:
-Christian Ponder
-EJ Manuel
-Paxton Lynch
-Blaine Gabbert
-Johnny Manziel
-Brandon Weeden
-Jake Locker
-Tim Tebow
I don't a single one of those guys was a better prospect coming out of college, they all had massive flaws yet every one of them was picked in the first round for no apparent reason. Like in what universe is Kizer a worse prospect than EJ Manuel was coming out?

For the last few years I have had serious beliefs that the NFL, its GMs, owners, reporters, and coaches participate in massive collusion. They will black ball potential players as they see fit, and prop up others just to fulfill their own needs. The fact that guys listed above were "no doubt" 1st rounders to many, but Kizer has "character issues" seems to only further strengthen my thoughts.

*I do agree with your opinion on Kizer. He has a low chance unless with the right organization.
5. I think I have zero problem with what DeShone Kizer said. (“Why can’t I be the greatest? The only thing stopping me from it is me.”) I would want my quarterback to think he can be the greatest quarterback in the game. It’s not sacrilegious to mention Tom Brady and Cam Newton as a quarterback and say you can be them. To me, it’s ambitious and admirable.
Forget being like Brady or Cam.
DeShone's gonna... Be like Mike!
Maybe Lenzy's Dad is involved?

You're absolutely right. The difference here is the years that these guys were drafted. Head coaches and GMs are realizing that they don't need to spend a first round pick to get a quarterback that can lead their team. They can find a guy like Russell Wilson, Derek Carr, or Dak Prescott in the later rounds. The thought process and philosophy has changed because, in my opinion, they've finally realized that if the quarterback they drafted in the first round doesn't pan out, then theres a good chance they'll be unemployed.
Going back to the list of quarterbacks that you listed. Besides Tebow and Lynch, the quarterbacks have something in common; they were all drafted by shittiest organizations in the NFL. Only Cleveland would draft a 29 year old rookie quarterback and a kid thats addicted to cocaine and strippers. Picks like the ones you listed above are why none of those teams, besides Denver, haven't sniffed success in 10+ years.
I personally don't think there is a quarterback in this draft that is worth grabbing in first 20 picks of the draft. I find it so comical that there is actually a legit debate in the Cleveland war room on who to take: Garrett or Trubisky. If they go Trubisky, then Hue Jackson is no different than the 8 other coaches they've had in the last decade.
Well the rumors, to be taken with a giant grain of salt, are that Hue and co are all in on Garrett and it's the front office that is pushing for Trubisky.

I think it's all bullshit coming from outside of Berea to try and keep some suspense for Thursday night but who knows. This is the same organization that took Justin Gilbert at #8.
