Yep. They are exactly the type of team we need to get ahead on early, and spread out on D. Do that and we should win easily. If we get sucked into a low-scoring slugfest, or even worse fall behind multiple scores early, we're gonna have a hard day.

if our defense doesn't get a little creative next week than even msu will be able to pick us apart...getting to the point where there's enough film on you where you can find tendencies and exploit them...even a bad team like purdue proved that...hopefully we have a good week of preparation and are able to put a good plan together that confuses them

Yeah, I thought we'd open at -3. Shocked we opened with that kind of line. Bet MSU +7 all day.

Not sure I would ... but if I were a neutral bettor (I think it's bad karma to bet against ND, no matter the line) I might take MSU at +7.5. MSU has a really tough D and I'm not sure we'll win by more than a TD. But the line isn't likely to move in that direction.

I watched a little media, read a few articles and other than the neon telegraph that is ND's offensive and defensive units, (currently), Kelly fixed a bunch of stuff in one week. This isn't about quality of opponent. His play selection, run-pass balance was much better. It would have been "damend neeear" great, if the "O-sers" hadn't telegraphed everything and waited to give Purdue time to adjust!

I think there was already hours of self scouting before the Sunday Audio-conference!

I hope that is true, and as a result ND comes out unpredictable on offense, and just throws the top off MSU. I am telling you, they can do it to anyone this year! I truly believe it. That is my strong gut, (feeling.)

I'd like to see our D front come with it early and often; on O, it would be nice to get a consistent run game going. Remember the Holtz era where they would just plow down the field, eating up clock and controlling the game? Yeah, times are different, Tommy just scares me cuz it seems he's just a play away from a pick. Hope Niklas can get involved, too.

I know that feeling and unfortunately I think it stems from the utter disbelief in how they've come out in every game so far and not conceding to the idea that we may not be very good.

I had that feeling before Purdue.

and I'd love to see four wide or move Herc out early take vertical shots and make them honest right off the bat... then open up the run.

I'd like to see the run game get going this week. Get the freshmen involved if possible. Maybe use them in a high leverage situation if need be. GAIII has 0 confidence from me so I wish he would stop getting so many touches. We're the more talented team so as long as we execute and don't turn the ball over we should be able to exert our will.

My gut: Notre Dame makes mistakes and rides bad play calling against a great defense to a big halftime deficit... tries to rally late and comes up short. 20-17 MSU wins.

My head: Diaco gets the D to step up and make some plays. MSU can't get anything going on offense and we win 24-3.

Been trying to force myself to give a score with my head rather than my heart. I think we could see TR take a step back, and have a close game at half. Second half we are forced to lean on the run and grind out a boring win. Brindza will be important.

This is going to be like 2011... Fresh off a crappy performance, the Irish come out and work out their frustrations on the Spartans.

Tommy plays well, and Bryant and Folston dominate the 4th quarter carries. Jones is the one to go off this week while Sparty focuses on Daniels. Niklas bounces back after dropping a few passes against Purdue and distributes all of the pain.

Tuitt and Nix are again the center of complaints, even though they will actually suck up double teams all day and allow Jarrett CalaFox to be productive in the middle. Jaylon creates a big turnover of some kind.

Irish roll, but a late MSU score makes it look closer than it really is, ND 34-20.

(This is my optomistic post, when we should obviously fire Martin, Diaco, Longo and maybe even BK).

I agree with this. Fast start ala Temple and playing from ahead most of the game. I think the score will be similar as well (31-13).

MSU is the game that has gotten our team going the past two years... Let's hope it continues for a third year.

I think we'll win this one in similar fashion to the last two years. Their QB isn't particularly mobile and they have a pro-style offense, which plays directly into our D's strengths. No doubt we'll have a few dozen plays with Amir Carlisle running directly into their d-line on a HB dive again, but eventually we'll score enough to win. I doubt MSU puts up more than 10.

I'd like to see a complete game. Temple we started hot and cooled off. Michigan and Purdue we started slow and seemed to play better towards the end (especially Purdue).

I'm going to the game with my alumni ('07) girlfriend and upgraded to the hot tub suite at the Holiday Inn. I'm not saying that upgrading to the Holiday Inn hot tub suite makes me an absolute baller, but I'm not not saying that either.
