With a loss to Notre Dame, Stanford is 4-8. The last time the Trees had that record was 2007, which was Harbaugh's first year there and the second year of the twelve game regular season schedule. Their conference record is 3-6. Three other Pac 12 North teams - Wash, Wash St and Cal - are 3-5. In head-to-head against those three teams, Stanford only beat Washington.

Lets hope the boys bring their axes, we need to rebuild all those boats we burned back in 2015. #ChopTheTree

Curtis Robinson, Stanford ILB, on playing Notre Dame

Sorry, Tree. We've only got one rival, and if we were going to expand that list, Stanford wouldn't be near the top.

The Insane Process Of Becoming Stanford's Tree

Stanford-Tree-Mascot-Monday.jpg

From article on March 3, 2015, Sarah Young, Class of '17, (center, below) was chosen as The Tree mascot for '15-'16.

NEW.030315.treeunveilingslider.jpg

Sarah is half black and half Chinese, Young is the first woman of color to be the Tree in Stanford’s history.
“I’m really proud of Stanford as a whole moving in that direction. Stanford is such a diverse place, and it would be cool if [that diversity] was reflected in every aspect.”

From article on the history of the building of the Transcontinental RR:

Leland Stanford, president of Central Pacific, former California governor and founder of Stanford University, told Congress in 1865, that the majority of the railroad labor force were Chinese. Without them,” he said, “it would be impossible to complete the western portion of this great national enterprise, within the time required by the Acts of Congress.”

More Chinese immigrants began arriving in California, and two years later, about 90 percent of the workers were Chinese.

This game worries me same as Michigan did. Except then I realise Stanford is in fact as bad as we thought Michigan was but turned out not to be.

Why worry? BK's undefeated in Palo Alto...

... and we're not mudders.

The Stanford field at the end of the season is terrible in the best of conditions. Can’t imagine what it’s going to be like after it rains a couple days during the week and during the game.

Now that I think about it Shaw would be smart to have em run the irrigation all week...

The Weather Channel Is calling for rain out there 3-4 days out of the next 10 days (it's their rainy season and very unpredictable), not one day other than Saturday Is being called for a measurable amount.
To put things into perspective there was over a half-inch of rain that fell during our game with Michigan.
Rainfall of a quarter inch in Palo Alto Is like saying it'll drizzle all day and they'll be doing a rain dance.
If you haven't been out west and witnessed the way they use rain gauges than you'll never appreciate the rain the midwest gets.
Their local news stations literally stand in puddles and say it's really coming down. They do flood easy and mudslides can happen over a 10th of an inch.
As Einstein once said....

An Awful lot of questions being thrown around without any real substance.
Awful is the word describing the unsubstantiated question's.

It's great to see our CEO of Football Operations handle the delegation of duties.
We will be right next to an address, 1 Hacker Way. Maybe they can use your input better.

Yes, and Stanford was 4-8 in '07. The other teams ND beat also had losing records, UCLA was 6-7 and Duke was 1-11. ALL teams that ND lost to had winning records.
