Permanent. We discussed whether to ban him extensively and decided that he deserved it. He could have been permanently banned for his comments on the night they released the Ferguson grand jury findings but out of respect for his long tenure on IE we wanted to get a consensus with all the mods.

His posts were mostly inflammatory and clearly his motivations to be on this board were primarily political rather than to discuss ND Football. Why, who knows?

GK is pretty spot on. But I'd add that even when NJNP, aka Title2012 aka Title2014 aka Title2114, posted on Notre Dame football he hardly sounded like a fan. He constantly insulted coaches, players, and (even worst) posters/fans. When he was confronted about how he behaved on the board, he ignored it, and when he was banned (multiple times throughout his tenure here) and given reasons and ways to improve, he ignored it.

TL;DR - He was an asshole. Told him to stop being an asshole. Purposefully became a bigger asshole. Now he's a banned asshole.

I'm going to concur with what's already been said. Even prior to the Ferguson outbreak Title2012 was spotty at best as a fan. He definitely had a tendency to ruffle feathers and could push some buttons. I figured it was only a matter of time for him.

We should make an IE holiday where a banned poster gets to come back for one hour on a particular day each year and can say whatever they want in that one-hour window, before being banned again.

IE's Day of the Dead or something.

Yeah, I'm not going to say that cops have been right in every circumstance, they're people too...and so they're not perfect. However, more times than not I'm going to side with them if the situation is between a cop and a law breaker, especially if the evidence points to the individual provoking the cops and/or picking a fight with one. Cops get a lot of disrespect these days when most are just trying to do their job, and it's a tough one. You put your life on the line on a regular basis, no thank you.
