I took it as only an idea if Studstill went down and Elliott doesn't get up to speed.
Hopefully with all the increase in reps and coaches focus on getting Elliott ready we will be fine.
I don't think it would negatively effect his draft stock either. Quite the opposite actually. NFL teams are going to draft him as a corner, but they love guys who have cross trained at safety. It would make him a much more well rounded player in the long term. It would be one season where he plays safety and then back to corner. He's a versatile athlete, he could handle it. I think it would make more sense then having guys that are detrimental to our team back there while a good corner sits on the bench.
I agree. I think it boosts it. He's shown he can play CB. Playing FS will show off his versatility and also show he is a team-first guy.
Devin McCourty was a failed NFL corner before switching to FS. Teams would be drooling over drafting a guy who could potentially excel at multiple positions.
The question is if we have that other boundary corner or not for when we push Crawford inside.
Honestly, I think it's a little misleading as I believe you're going to be watching Studstill and Elliot play a lot of football going forward. Though I think that's what happens, it should be an easy sell.
makes me laugh at how much we all got on Mathias Farley. Would take him in a heart beat would ya?

Seriously. What's so crazy is how competent he was as a first year player after a position switch. Best thing about Diaco's defense is how teachable it was.
Injuries made him look terrible that one season... then he was utilized strangely as a "nickel" when we had no other players for the position. He's not uber athletic but he made a lot of big plays with good ball skills when he was a safety, and I bet he sticks in the NFL as a safety. He's been great in the pre-season. It's quasi-insane to think how much an NFL quality was basically wasted, and how much he could help us this year if he was here.

Not only this but the amount of armchair coaches that were complaining bitterly throughout that entire year that Redfield wasn't getting on the field over Farley go to show that we know nothing, and that most of the time people start/don't start for a reason.
Wonder if Watkins will take a stab at FS since when he's back his starting cb spot will be gone.
ISD is reporting that the 4 boys were practicing today.

Good. I don't think they should be suspended anyway
lol, because?
Because its weed. It took Cierre Wood like 5 times to get caught with weed or fail a drug test before he was suspended. I think if they were going to be suspended, it would've been announced on Sunday with the Redfield and Butler news.
what about the handgun?
What if they were actually Northern Indiana vigilantes, killing muggers like CHARLES BRONSON?

It is slightly misleading for those two for sure. But Elliott could return back to corner in his future, too. Sophomores Spencer Perry and DJ Morgan could also be OLB's come next year, as well.
1 year projection:
FS:
Devin Studstill So.
Jalen Elliott So.
SS:
Drue Tranquill Sr.
Nicco Fertitta Jr.
Spencer Perry So.
DJ Morgan So.
Theres still a lot of playing time to be had coming in as a true frosh Safety next year. Drue hast played a full season yet, and got to think someone could challenge Nicco for time. What happens with Spencer/DJ and does Jalen take better to safety or corner?
What happened to S Avery?
What happened to S Avery?
Can we some more pics of the lovely lady with Drue?
It's a 1-year projection, so he'll be gone by 2017.
