This comes up annually. Always amounts to nothing. Because, really, what big-time program is actually going to be cool with an elite recruit playing hoops on the side? (same goes for basketball-first kids playing football). Just doesn't happen anymore.
Hope someone clues in Soso to that before A&M whispers too many sweet nothings into his ear.

Tony Gonzalas. Oh wait...that wasn't recent.

Even if you go back to Ward, Peppers or further back like Quinn Buckner, two sport athletes are a rarity at the high level. Coaches want their kids playing one sport. They don't want to risk injury, lose time in the weight room, etc..

Scout: In an interview with Hoge he said Soso is truly an ND guy and he loved his visit. Hoge's dad is in constant contact with Soso's dad since the visit. He doesn't know where Soso will choose but knows he loved it.

+1 for not wearing the hat flat-brimmed with a bookstore sticker still on it

Not to be too obtuse, but, I got that Soso is wearing ND gear. Did he wear it last night to his game. Against Plano East? Did he wear it on the sideline when he wasn't playing, or was he hurt?

Soso put up 185 yards and 3 TDs in the first half when they went into the locker room at half up by something in the 30s-0. I'm assuming he was pulled for the 2nd half. They play Plano East, who is 1-3 and only had 169 yards total offense that game. I'm going with pulled for the 2nd half.

Plano West's Soso Jamabo puts up 185 yards, 3 TDs in first half as Wolves crush Plano East 42-7 | Dallas Morning News

Also, I love that hat. I need to order it. Thanks for the model, Soso.

That hat is awesome! I'm in agreement that they probably pulled Soso in the second half.

Good to see. FWIW, 10 straight CBs for A/M.

I put this in another thread but it should be here. Wiltfong basically said that the A&M guys have no info they are just basing it off the feeling that "if we want him we'll get him" mentality. He isn't balking at all in his CB decision right now.

Sorry for being ignorant when it comes to hardcore recruiting, but I can't for the life of me figure out what "CB" means in this context. I get the sense that it's some kind of prediction of where the kid will end up? Anyone care to enlighten me?

You nailed it. Predictions that are made by the 247 recruiting analysts. While some analysts only cover certain teams and some cover the whole nation, they're all allowed to 'CB' any player, any time.

CB means Crystal Ball. All the 247 writers have guesses where recruits go, that is their crystal ball.

Steve Hare at II caught with Nick Coleman this evening and one topic that came up was that in a recent conversation with Elston he told Coleman to continue to reach out to Soso and Kraemer as they think they're close to popping for the Irish.

Mostly stuff we know already. The coolest part of the visit was going out with the team and the game. Atmosphere was crazy. Still on his list is ASU, Oregon, Baylor, UCLA, and Texas A&M. At the end Greg Powers asks him if he had a favorite and if that favorite was ND and Soso replied "Yeah you could say that." "Yeah yeah definitely."

Niiice. Kind of knew that already, like you said, but it's always nice to hear that we're "definitely" the leader from the kid himself. Really hope we can hold off those offensive juggernauts on this one tho. Especially A&M.

Thanks for the recap. I'd rep ya but I have to spread it around.

With a list that is still that long it doesn't feel like he's ready to commit just yet.
