They have very "potent" Velcro.

From today's UniWatch blog.

Yesterday, Paul sat in on a panel discussion at a sports business class at NYU. Also present on the panel was a merch buyer for an un-named national sporting goods chain. He shared this tidbit of info:

Mr. Buyer says Under Armour will never be able to recoup the financial investment they had to make in order to land the Notre Dame contract, at least not in merch sales. The deal was more about establishing UA’s credibility as a national player on a par with Nike.

Anyone else have any issues with their UA gear? Between my wife and myself, we probably have about 6 Articles of clothing. In all we have probably returned or exchanged that many. I have not been impressed at all with the quality or the fit of the gear thus far.

Yep...overpriced and cheaply made. Everything i have bought has come out looking horrible after one wash.

I'm honestly shocked to hear this. I've been wearing Under Armour since they first came out with Cold Gear over a decade ago. "Cheaply made" is never how I'd refer to their products.

I have six ND items. No issues with any of them. This is probably a stupid question, but did you follow the washing instructions? On their performance apparel (heat gear, cold gear, loose gear, etc.) you can't machine dry it safely except on really low heat (i always air dry) and you must wash it gentle on cold if you're machine washing. Don't use dryer sheets either or fabric softeners.

I do find the logo and such on their polyester clothe to be kind of shitty and can almost peel off but other than that it is great. Also I haven't noticed the logo peeling yet but I have on other UA stuff. I do wish there was more cotton shirts though.

I have countless Under Armour apparel, including a few ND pieces, and have not had a problem with any of them......and I work out 3-4 times a week. I live in my big logo Storm hoodies in the winter time, I have 6 of them, and no problem whatsoever.

Cannot agree with this statement enough! UA will always have that 'newer' feel to it, but I would buy It over Nike any time of the year. Que. Heading to SB this weekend for the game. I've yet to buy any of the new items because of my build then don't usually fit well. I'm 6' and about 175. Things like the pullovers and a lot of the T's for me before were either a little short in L or to wide in XL. Anyone bought any of the new merchandise yet? How's the fit?

I got a t-shirt. Fits well over my bulging rippliness.

We aren't same size but I usually have same issue. Need a larger size for length but then is always too wide.

I bought a polo and it fits fantastic.

I've supported "The Team" to the tune of over $2K in the past two years. It's a tough business based largely on optics vs quality gear. UA is great gear. Nike was the $hit in the early '80's. Adida's has always been a good product.

I hate/love that gear is being largely sold by endorsements.

Cheers and Go Irish!!

Hope we dump UA ASAP...hate their gear. I will take Addidas every day of the week and thrice on Saturdays over that chitty UA stuff.

I like Adidas stuff over UA as well however, the last year ND had adidas they had those heinous jerseys with the what looked liked tire marks on the chest and the lineman didn’t want to use them so they wore the ones from the year before. You could tell the difference easily, it was amateur hour big time.

UA is decent but their apparel lacks any creativity. If they’re going to charge $40 for a t-shirt make it look better than ass. Their hats suck b/c they run so damn small. I was glad to see them add xxl to their flex fit hats this year.

Other than the last few years of the Faust era when they could be seen wearing Nike cleats, i don’t recall ND ever wearing Nike. I hate to admit it, but I like their gear more than UA or adidas.

I'm an adidas guy-used it when I played use it now for almost everything-quality/ style/classy and they are jazzy enough-would like my Irish to go back.

Underarmor stuff is too pricey. I don't want to hit triple digits buying three shirts for my kids. I gotta buy 'em really big so they can get at least 2 seasons out of it.

I like the UA stuff, it is nicer and generally better designed than Adidas. But I agree the stuff is pricey but you do get what you pay for. I wouldn't mind them trying nike next round

It's really all been trash since they split with Champion.

I still buy Champion stuff when they have it in the Bookstore. I didn't think they made anything for ND anymore, but apparently they do.

UA is pricy at times, but they don't endorse Colin Kapernick so I'm all in. Sent all my Nike stuff to Goodwill.

Not Under armor related but needed to vent, the helmets look like ass. The gold color is off my source says they had some sort of shortage and had to improvise. They better figure it out. It looks so yellow and ugly

Boy sounds like a lot of people are going to have their hands full with the UA contract. I guess that’s what you get when it cost an arm and a leg for a sweatshirt.
