We're legitimately heading towards a top 5 class if we add Braiden and Tyree. Haven't had a recruit like Tyree in ages. Likely to finish with somewhere between 285 and 295 points by 247's formula if this all keeps up.

If ND gets Braiden and Tyree in May then I'm willing to sacrifice my summer in order to speed up December NSD.
GoT can time travel...why can't I.

Staying in the top 10 is good enough for me. Top 5 would be incredible since it's so rare for us. I hope the train stays on the tracks because Kelly is elevating the program.
Agreed.
We are in tight with some big names at wide receiver, currently. We could legitimately sign 3-4 guys that would finish in the Top 247.
On the offensive line, we got our prize in Tosh. As for the rest of the board, there is the chance to add one or two more solid prospects..
Our defensive line commitments are something to drool over, even more salivation if McGregor makes his commitment to the good guys. In the secondary, there are some big names still on the board and still in contention. Commitments from one or two of our top targets can help build a top 5 recruiting class.
especially since the top 3 seem to be baked in (Clemson, Bama and Ohio St) and the system has also baked in the belief that the best players come from the south so teams like Georgia, LSU, FSU and Miami have to really screw it up to not be in the top ten.
Mr. McGregor is on the clock.

So I added these 12 to the class calculator: McGregor, Tyree, Phillips, Carmody, Zinter, Cullen Coleman, Lovie Jenkins, Malcolm Greene, Landen Bartelson, Cameron Martinez, Michael Redding, and Xavier Watts.
It came out with a score of 281.97. Which would've put us 6th last year and with only 22 commits, that's pretty darn good.
I must add that some of the names I chose were not necessarily educated guesses but more placeholders at reasonable ratings, that we should be able to land players at that level or better. Somewhat of a base case. Those would be Malcolm Greene, Xavier Watts, and Cam Martinez. The rest I think we have a pretty decent shot at.
This list also leaves a lot of upside should we land Ransom, Story, Henning, McMillan, Andrew Gentry, Chris Thompson Jr., Enzo Jennings, Jordan Morant, Eric Reed, Jahari Rogers.
At this point, I'd say the biggest +/- will come with DB recruiting.
As good as this class is shaping up to be, just imagine how epic it could have been if we didn't shit the bed in 2016 and had FOUR years of sustained success to sell...
It's pretty amazing how well ND is doing with it's top targets. Per 247, ND has gotten a commitment from or is squarely in the race for nearly all their top targets. In past years, there were a lot more colds listed

Rankings aren't everything but they've been a good indicator for a player's successful transition.
They are a decent indicator. My problem with rankings is it gives additional points for more recruits, i.e. 25 recruits vs. 24, 23,22, etc. recruits. You may take one less recruit some year because you're bringing back a 5th year senior who's going to start, yet you get penalized.
How do you block for that? You can't and ultimately, who cares. Some staffs are good at identifying talent, some aren't. I think the average ranking of recruits is another good indicator but again, what about the Will Fullers of the world? You can't, there will always be aberrations.
This staff is pretty good at finding talent and they've done a lot with top 15 recruiting classes. If they can continually sign top 10 or better, I think we'll continue to see double digit win seasons and hopefully, chances for a natty.
That's all I hope for, makes the season and recruiting so much more enjoyable.
It’s interesting that we put Will Fuller up as an under the radar type guy. He was ranked #176th OA by Rivals which was the exact same ranking for Ronnie Stanley (different years). Jerry Tillery was 145th and Mike McGlinchey was unranked. I would have sworn that all of them were ranked much higher than Fuller. Maybe he got a late jump in the rankings, don’t really remember.
By one of the sites, Will Fuller was the 2nd lowest rated recruit that BK had ever brought in. Not 2nd lowest rated receiver, but recruit.

Always remember. You are comparing this years class mid-cycle the final ranking of past cycles. If you go back and look at Will Fuller, he finished Top 300 on 247 but was maybe Top 600 at this time of the cycle going into his Sr. year.
Actually, the reason is I used to track recruits mostly on ESPN at that time. ESPN used to be more non-subscription and I didn't know about all the other recruiting sites so most of my memories are from then. I believe ESPN had him rated lower than 100th best WR.
He might've also received a late bump by the recruiting services because I remember almost everyone being ambivalent about him at the outset.
