Is this true? If so, them showing up for that entrance video is hilarious and fairly hypocritical. It's like when Psy showed up in NYC as a special guest for the News Years Ball Drop after he said a bunch of shit about Americans.

outside of Lars (was a ranked tennis player as a junior), the entire band is from California. Hetfield (lives in colorado - he left CA to get away from 'a certain group of ppl in the bay area') is a big Raiders' fan, Kirk Hammett doesnt appear to follow sports at all, Robert Trujillo is an athletic dude, but I dont remember him showing any allegiance to any sports team. The entire time I followed the band (84-92) I never once heard any of them say anything about college football. Lars and Het used to go to hockey games.....

Julian Love is a boss. If NFL teams don’t see him as a first round talent then those scouts should be fired!

The second quarter was frustrating, but other than that no pants shitting like we were promised. Good to have the road win monkey off the team's back.

Metallica became a thing for me in 91... Hero of the Day is the business and as hard as I can really get... but I’m a cat person so...

This might be BK's most impressive win yet. Ok hype, but definitely a game that previous teams would have struggled much more with.

The biggest improvement I've seen is the ability to make adjustments and legitimately tighten up mistakes. Another is the aggression till the end, and not letting the foot totally off the gas. This is a very different team than any of BK's previous teams and am soooo happy to be eating my words from the Vandy and Ball St games.

This team has a burst and physicality, I have never seen from a BK (or ND) team, and am stoked! This was a very special win, and showed a resilience and toughness that can hang with anyone.

Overall - without the scoop and score, and the long run from Dex, it would be scary.. but it's a 20+ point win, and we all should be happy drunks right now. Don't get cucked like KPENN though.

Metallica started the band out of hatred for VT? Lol wut

I thought that seemed a bit strange too, but there have been stranger celebrity encounters in the realm of college football. I mean, Vince Vaughn was on the sideline with Owen Wilson in 2012. Longhorns worship Matthew McConaughey. Dwayne Wade played for Marquette, but he's a Nebraska fan. Russell Crowe is from New Zealand, but he roots for Skunkbears...but we knew Crowe was loony. Might be a bit far fetched to say Metallica formed out of a hatred of VT, but it's college football. There's a lot of passion here that you don't see in the NFL.

Surely I’m not the only one who noticed all those empty seats right?

Or all the chants of “Let’s Go IRISH!” & “YOOOOOOOON!!”

Either there were more ND fans there than Herbie/Fowler cared to acknowledge/admit or there happened to be microphones in the vicinity of just Irish fans.

ABC broadcast put Derek Brown on the screen twice.

6-0. This team is legit and the best team Kelly has had.

First one shown was Tim Brown...they effed up a Heisman trophy winner's name...but hey, yea...great broadcast guys.

Was kinda confused WTF was going on in the second quarter with the offense....glad VATech shot themselves in the foot a few times. Liked how the O went back to doing the stuff Book does well in the second half...one of those things being giving the ball to DEXXXXXXX!

Was also wondering when Love was going to jump one of those outs...they threw that thing to Hazleton like 922 times...

Cudos to DT to tough it out...pretty good game, but he needs his hand back...hard to shuck blocks one handed.

Overall D did pretty well considering what parts and pieces were missing or dinged up.

Solid win...one ify quarter on the road...I'll take it.

Vince Vaughn has been an Irish fan since he got his big break in Rudy.

Russell Crowe is a Michigan fan? WTH, just for that I will rat on him. Go listen to his music (I am sure it is on youtube)...he is terrible.

Fair amount of ND fans, maybe 5,000 I’d say and we were shoved up in the very top corner of course, but there were microphones in front of us for some odd reason.

It was strange checking my phone for updates and if it was a good update Id picture Val Kilmer from Tombstone in the stands celebrating in full, “you ain’t no daisy!” Mode.... if it was a bad update I pictured him all sickly and dying of consumption....

Hammer in the 3rd quarter: "Oh, I wasn't quite as sick as I made out."

It was Houston in 1974 with 49 points. This is a really big deal in the grand scheme of things. /s

We are #2 with our quality wins at this point. I'll take 3 by the end of year poll's

in power rankings...
we'll be 5 in ap and coaches.
that's good enough for right now.
the top 2 will play each other if they keep their places.
top 5 at this point means we're in if we handle our bidness
