If Brian Kelly has any balls he would name Mike Sanford the OC right now and give him full control of the offense. But it's Brian Kelly

I don't know about that. What has Sanford proven that he can be an effective OC.

All I know is once Kelly started to focus on the defense this past year the offense went to shit.

ahh look what he did with a third string QB who got no reps all year? Or when he was an OC at Boise his offense was balanced and lethal at times. Also he is highly, highly regarded. Son of a great coach and was under Harbaugh for a couple years.

What did Denbrock show you this year?

Some sources in Cincy getting more brave, saying Fickell is a done deal and getting announced tomorrow.

Either someone laid down the law and they don't need their come-to-Jesus meeting on Sunday, or someone is jumping the gun and gonna look foolish.

Never said Denbrock should be the OC.

Denbrock needs to coach WR and TE's and dominate West Coast recruiting.

Word out there is that UCLA will make a run at Sanford as well for its vacant OC position. Kind of disconcerting as it seems other schools think he's poachable.

As long as Sanford is a glorified QB coach at ND, he's very poachable.

Dallas Morning News reports Charlie Strong possible replacement at USF, or even joining new Oregon coach as the DC.

So much for making any kind of statement in the hiring of a DC

I'm sure Strong's preference is to be a HC and not take a step backwards to being a DC again.

He was never coming here. Anyone that actually thought that is pretty dumb. He was going for another HC job not a DC job.

I semi agree with this... He obviously was going HC.. my hope was there wouldn't be a HC job out there for him, and if that was the case, I think we had just as good a chance as anyone to get him as DC.. He has history here... Why would he go to Oregon over us as a DC IMO... Mute point now

He's getting an offer from the Colts, as well.

I would love to see him as the Colts HC. Coach Comeback.
I'd actually be OK if they kept their coach so long as they get rid of Grigson, but JH would be awesome for the Colts, not to mention bad for Meatchicken.

Will we see the first $10 million/year coach here? Cause that's what it is going to take to get him away from his current job.

I would laugh so freakin hard if he left scUM already... it would be a nice ending to an otherwise shitty year....

That would be an epic meltdown for sure. But I can't gloat too much... my meltdown will be coming at some point in the not to distant future.

Yes but at least you've won championships under Saban. If Harbaugh were to leave in the offseason, he would be doing so without having won a championship or beating Ohio St. That coupled with the fact that he'd be giving his alma mater the cold shoulder would make this a pretty big blow to Meatchicken's psyche.

Yup, the butthurt would be strong with Meatchicken. JH does have ties with the Colts and was loved there, so I could see it happening if the money is there. He could likely rule the AFC South and get the Colts back with a bit of swag. He's got his buddy Luck as well. Nice landing spot IMO.

Harbaugh's pattern is to coach 4 years or so, and then leave for something else. He either gets bored with what he is doing or is asked to leave after a few years. I suspect he stays for at least another year or two, but...

Perhaps someone who follows Michigan football more closely can answer these questions. How many starters is Harbaugh losing from this year's team? Will next year's Michigan team be dominated by young players, rather than a large core of upperclassmen? Harbaugh has recruited some good, young players, but will they be ready to achieve another 10 or 11 win season as early as next year?

If Harbaugh sees a couple seasons of rebuilding ahead of him, he just might take another shot at the NFL.

It would be truly glorious, if that took place.

The schadenfreude would not last long. If Harbaugh bails watch Michigan hire Fleck who then goes on to have a wildly successful career at UM. Meanwhile BK goes 7-5 in 2017 and is fired, ND having missed out on Fleck, hires MacIntyre away from Colorado and he coaches 3-4 seasons at ND never reaching double digit wins and its once again back to the drawing board for ND. Be careful what you wish for.

Pretty good recruiting ratings but took a slide in 14 and 15. Lot of SR and RS SR starters. Lot of JRs in the two deep.
Will be interesting but I don't see too much drop off if 2014 class does well next year.
