He stormed out of a scheduled press conference when asked about an injury, lied about voting USC #1 in the coaches poll, the aforementioned forehead cut, the USC deflate-gate, the team showing up hours late for the Sun Bowl dinner ceremony when practice ran over.

I'm sure there were other things I'm missing. It felt like a steady stream of nonsense.

Jeff Fisher has run about as far as someone possibly can with one Super Bowl appearance. I would be shocked if he ever got another chance. He is objectively not a good coach.

No. Apparently he signed that extension before the start of the season but it was just reported on a few weeks ago for some reason.

It was apparently done before the season but not announced till a few weeks ago if that makes any sense, which it doesn't if your a normal functionally NFL franchise but it does in the context of the Rams and their ownership/management.

My friends and I have a running joke that Jeff Fishers record at any given time perfectly represents mediocrity. If you do better than him you are doing well, and if you do worse you should be fired. It's amazing how accurate it is.

Alternatively maybe the knew the firing was imminent and wanted to let everyone know about the extension so people weren't confused why the team is paying out X number of extra years on his contract. Begs the question why not just announce the extension when it happened.

the "Sources" preaching this are the same that said NO WAY to idea of Harbaugh coming back to MI.... If I am Jim, If I am going to make that jump, why do it for the Rams?.. Gotta believe the Michigan Alumni will match dollars to any NFL Deal

The only thing I can see in this, is its LA. No having to deal with harsh Michigan winters, recruiting across the country, and while the UM alumni could probably match an NFL contract, a big question would be, will they????

He may get the opportunity to do it with the Colts. I think that job would be pretty intriguing for him.
