The LGTBQ community is up in arms because a Calvin Klein commercial featured a hetero female model kissing a female robot instead of the commercial using an LGTBQ actress to kiss the female robot. "There are plenty of real LGBTQ Models that could have been used" claimed a critic. Does this mean no gay actor can play a straight character then? God knows that's never happened.
Not surprisingly, Calvin Klein apologized for their gross insensitivity to both the LBTGQ community and, I guess, to offended robots, “We understand and acknowledge how featuring someone who identifies as heterosexual in a same-sex kiss could be perceived as queer-baiting. As a company with a longstanding tradition of advocating for LGTBQ+ rights, it was certainly not our intention to misrepresent the LGTBQ+ community. We sincerely regret any offense we caused.”
You can't make this crap up.
So you can be gay or trans and portray a straight person, but not the opposite... good lord.
I'll be hanging with my (I'm not going to categorize) cousin in the next couple days on the beach with beers and good foods and can't wait till she laughs at this shit.
