What is even going on in this thread now? Is this the thread where we rehash Weis stories from 16 years ago?

MONEY APR. 4, 2022

Black Lives Matter Secretly Bought a $6 Million House

Allies and critics alike have questioned where the organization’s money has gone.

Last I checked the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and others hadn't reported receiving any assistance from the BLM organization. It sure seems like the organization has been using the broad BLM cause to line their pockets and rip people off.

Something happens to these people that find a cause then let’s their success corrupt them. Happened with Wounded Warriors and Race for the Cure as well.

I'm not sure the BLM organization wasn't just corrupt from the start though. They piggybacked on the BLM movement to line their pockets as their real estate purchases have shown. I haven't heard that any of the high profile BLM causes received anything from the BLM organization.

BLM is just Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson but in organization form. They all sell racism and division because racism and division is a lucrative business for them.

I don't think most organizations want their leaders talking like this.

In the patio video marking the anniversary of George Floyd’s death, the conversation among Cullors, Garza, and Abdullah turned to the people who have faulted their leadership online. “Who the fuck are you? You ain’t done shit,” Abdullah said. Garza added that she discounted criticism from people she didn’t know personally. “I don’t need to be accountable to you,” she said. “I don’t know what accountability looks like with people that I don’t know and have never talked to.”

I think I'm in love.
When I’ve spent time in Italy I am shocked each time by how openly anti PC, unchecked immigration, big gov etc etc etc so many seem to be… very vocal about it

It always makes me laugh when the media goes to the worst dictators or screams fascist when somebody comes along that's contrary to their ideology. The comparison is just awful on it's face, there's such an incredible divide between that woman and Mussolini it's not close. One is a woman passionate about family, religion, and values. The other is a dictator from 80 years ago who was an atheist, attacked religion, tortured his own family, was a racist, and participated in WWII as one of the truly bad guys. It ain't close.

I posted this in another thread but basically they're scurred:

The winning political philosophy moving forward is likely to be some version of anti-woke "fair" capitalism with an emphasis on social safety nets and a tinge of nationalism. USA might be different because abortion is used as a wedge issue here far differently than other countries.

I'm not sure. "Social safety nets" is such a broad (and politicized) term that it's hard to know what party in the US is best positioned. Nationalized healthcare? Guaranteed living wage? Social security expansion? Broad-based debt cancellation? Where is the line drawn?

Broadly speaking, most Americans appear to be wholly sick of the government spending trillions with no discernible positive impact. I think a new generation of fiscal conservatism is more likely than a wave of support for entitlement expansion.

When groceries are high and interest is up and you're afraid to go downtown, it doesn't wedge as much.

That's actually refreshing to see someone on the other side of the aisle call bullshit on a bit of media propaganda, this is very commendable. It would be nice if both sides could engage in this more often, but slinging mud and exaggerations help bring in $$$.
Cack is messaging him as we speak to help inform him that she indeed is a fascist and that by him making such a statement he is enabling fascism. This guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about since he's been out of office for like six years. Thank God for such informed people as our beloved Cack.

C'mon guys, Cack hasn't even responded yet. No need to bring him into this if he hasn't made a comment.

Student walkouts in Virginia because of the governor's policy of prohibiting schools from socially transitioning gender-confused students behind their parents’ backs. Yep, they're mad because the governor says the parents, not the teachers, are to be the main guide for their kids. The first paragraph of the article sums a lot up:

The student walkouts taking place in nearly 100 public schools across Virginia today represent everything that’s wrong with our public education system. Students may barely be learning, but they are being trained as activists, thanks to encouragement from woke educators who think they have the right to override parental prerogatives and decide how children will be raised.

I really feel like kids should be prevented from transitioning prior to 18 at least. Making a call before or during puberty just doesn't make sense. Their bodies are going through all kinds of changes and if they're confused they shouldn't be pulling the trigger when those hormones are running wild. It's hard reading stuff like this.

I completely agree. Countless studies show that teen brains are far from being fully matured and capable of consistently making good choices. Their Jello hasn't firmed up, so to speak. It's why we generally don't allow minors to sign contracts, buy alcohol or cigarettes, vote, and etc. Letting them make a life changing, MAJOR decision about gender reassignment surgery or hormone therapy is ridiculous. You can't claim a 13-year-old is too young to drive or smoke or decide who to vote for, but fully able to decide if they should whack off their genitals or breasts and take hormones.

That is the biggest issue of course, isn't it? I don't care if we have social safety nets. I don't care if we have to pay taxes in order for us to have xyz. I can't get behind the fact that the government half-asses Every. Single. Program going, wasting money, projects going over budget AND time, backdoor deals, government contracts being bloated from the beginning because these companies KNOW they can, and red tape out the ass to the point that social security offices feel like purgatory.
