This! I was born and raised in North Canton. I spent many summers driving the hour to Cleveland to catch an Indians game, going to Blossom Music Center to catch all of the major concerts, spending a day at Cedar Point riding the best roller coasters in the world(at that time), or just hanging out at a local pond, fishing with my buddies. We left the house before 8am each morning, and came back home when the street lights came on...... usually. Fall was football; we played on weekends at Price Park, we watched every Saturday, and we talked about it nonstop. Winter was the end of the NFL season. We didn't care how cold it was outside; we were all huddled around the TV worshipping at the shrine of American football. When you were forced to go outside, there were plenty of local hills to sled ride on, there were plenty of frozen ponds to ice skate on, and there were plenty of snow covered parking lots to do donuts in.
I've been a bit of a nomad my entire adult life, so I feel perfectly qualified to say this:
Where you live is what you make of it. You can find entertainment and fun just about anywhere. You can find culture just about anywhere. It's all up to you.
