Did both of these guys play last weekend? I guess I'm asking if they're new injuries, or if they've already been out and are just being ruled out yet again.

I know the WR got hurt last game abdominal injury. Dunno about the defense guy

Leading tackler is Jessie Bates who is from Fort Wayne Snider. Feel bad for him that a "local" kid won't get an opportunity to play at ND stadium. I guess his injury is not season ending, just won't play against ND.

He had 8 tackles, 1.5 TFL and 2 pass break-ups in the Deacons 42-32 win over Louisville.

Don't know if these are injuries or coaching decisions but here's a few I had...

Tony Jones Jr - Hip Pointer, Ankle - Injured, interested to see if they hold him out
Alize Mack - Concussion - I'd be surprised if they rushed him back for WF
Cam Smith - Hamstring - DNP against NC St, how's he doing?
Kurt Hinish - DNP against NC St, why?
Micah Dew-Treadway - DNP against NC st. Leaves only MTA as our legit DT backups
Nyles Morgan - Shoulder - Injured in game, wonder if he gets a week off
Nicco Fertitta - Lower Body - Helped off the field, he's a constant on the ST unit

All in all not too bad injury-wise just need to get everyone healthier for the WF, Miami, Navy, and Stanford games

Right. Watch him win a title this year and then leave.

He's 56. IDK if he has it in him to start from scratch again and relocate to be honest.

This off season is going to be very interesting and awkward, especially if we win 11 games.

We return a ridiculous number of starters next year against a schedule I would say is more favorable than this year's. I don't see him leaving before next year unless he's asked to go.

I know there's a whole other thread about this, but can never figure out why so many are so convinced Kelly wants to leave. Yes, he interviewed for the Eagles job five years ago, but all the on-and-off talk since has been little more than smoke (I'm convinced the USC rumors last year were someone trying to dirty him up. The timing made zero sense for anyone involved.)

Kelly's a college coach, always has been, and our resurgence this year is driven by returning to fundamentals of college football, which, for a coach, is very different than the pro game. What, exactly, does Kelly bring to the table in the NFL?

As for other college jobs, I dunno. Like Koon said, he's getting old to start over. At ND he's got a great job, with a supportive AD, and if you can win at Notre Dame, you're as big as the sport gets. How is Florida or USC really more appealing?

If we win 11 games and make the playoffs, maybe BK gets some sort of raise or extension. But it's not like he'd have 2012 leverage after what happened last year. There won't be much patience for flirting with the NFL. Best thing for all involved would be to keep Elko and get after the business of winning 14 games next year.

I simply had to name the evil so it wouldn't come to pass.

Real talk: does Wake's D line coach get poached after Elston leaves for a HC job?

This relationship at any school cannot be understated. There have been so many job changes that happened/didn't happen because of the relationship between AD/Head Coach. When all things point to leaving/staying, this is the biggest variable that's not always obvious to fans.

And Jack more than stuck his neck out for BK, at least publically. That's impactful.

Couldn't agree more with this. I'm not even sure I'd call the Eagles interview a real interview. More of a feeling out talk. Then Kelly decided he was a better fit for the college game. With the renewal of the program this year it almost feels as if Kelly is just getting started.
