according to rivals.....it took Kelly some time to adjust to the talent in Baltimore. He has the explosiveness to come off the edge and does a decent job handling the point of attack with long arms, but his repertoire of pass rush moves is limited and once linemen figured out Kelly liked to go inside, they were able to stop him.
he bumped into current Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith while in South Bend, and that was one of the highlights of his trip.
"We were just touring campus, and we saw him just ridding a bicycle, so the coaches stopped him," Kelly said when asked about Smith. "I talked to him for about five minutes and he just told me that Notre Dame is a great school to go to -
it was cool because he probably is going to be a top draft pick. It's always good to get a players perspective."
"They had a really nice campus, but what I really liked and what was surprising, was the graduation rate. They graduated 97 percent of players. So even if football doesn't work out, you have that degree," Kelly said
"I still have a lot of schools to see, but I think they are up there," Kelly said.
When asked what he wrote in his notebook about Notre Dame following the visit, Kelly didn't offer up much, but he said that things were trending up for the Irish.
"It was high," Kelly said. "Academically, with the facilities, it all ranked high even with the coaches. You know it's Coach Gilmore's first year, but he's from Detroit and my dad is from Detroit, so we have a lot in common." - See more at:
