We had a light drizzle of freezing rain last night. Dumbasses here didnt salt the roads or bridges. Then this morning during rush hour they close the bridges servicing the entire metro area while 100,000 commuters are using them. My wife was stuck sitting still from 7:10-9:45 am. We had to wait for the bridges to dry/warm so they would open them up again.

And people wonder why the south sucks are sub freezing temps/weather.

Was 39 here this morning at 5am. Dogs wouldn't stay outside.

Word of advice: Never buy dogs in Memphis and raise them in San Diego even if the packaging says Labrador. You'll end up with 80 lb Chihuahua's that love BBQ and won't go in the pool unless you push em.

Already 62 and heading for a high of 75 but I'll still follow the 3 layer rule like you guys back east... t-shirt/cargo shorts/flip-flops.

Pitchers & Catchers report in 45 days!

Wow! They never tell you that in those Waikiki Beach brochures.

It's been pretty cold, here, recently. It hit the low 50s, a couple of weeks ago. Snow on Mauna Kea, and everything.

Girls break out their sweatshirts and Uggs, once it gets under 70. I know... rough life.

https://weather.com/storms/winter/n...orm-grayson-southeast-ice-northeast-snowstorm

Winter storm warnings have been issued for portions of northern Florida, including Tallahassee, southeastern Georgia and in the eastern Carolinas, including Cape Hatteras and Charleston.

Yes, you read that right. Winter storm watches and warnings have been issued as far south as parts of north Florida, coastal Georgia, and the Lowcountry of South Carolina, including the cities of Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina.

This is the first winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service office in Tallahassee, Florida, in almost four years, since Winter Storm Leon produced snow and ice over much of the Southeast, leading to travel chaos in cities such as Atlanta, Birmingham, Alabama and Tallahassee, Florida.

Winter weather advisories are also in effect for another narrow strip of south Georgia and north Florida just west of the city of Tallahassee, Florida, and for north-central and northeastern Florida, including Jacksonville.

Back in the 90s I did a 5 day FTX near Ft Greeley, AK for Northern Warfare Trng. -65 degrees F. Walking around in snowshoes, carrying large full rucks and harnessed to a 300# sled filled with our gear. Brutal FTX but fun as hell.

On the flip side my first day living in Singapore I walked around downtown and became disoriented, spending about 3 hours walking around. Came back to the house, took my shirt off and wrung out about 12 ounces of sweat.

Supposed to get a few inches of snow/freezing rain today. Definitely not normal but it shouldnt be too bad. City is closed and so is work. Cant drive too far anyway because bridges are going to close.

Heat wave here tomorrow! High temperature is gonna be 3 degrees above 0 in Chicago tomorrow, up 12 degrees from today's high.

In all seriousness by the end of the week it is gonna be almost 40. Trying to be optimistic about the whole polar vortex in that it is only lasting a few days. Wednesday it will be 20 which pretty much a ho hum winter day.

Temperatures above freezing in winter suck. Makes everything wet, muddy and humid.

In winter winter, perfect temp is about 25°F.

Exactly. Doesn't hurt your face and a light sweatshirt is all you need. I do give exception for days when the temperature gets above 50 or 60. That's rare in midwinter but a nice respite and worth the dampness.

Agreed on all accounts. Nice on those 50/60 days to get the salt off the cars too.

Wow - when is the last time that Charleston had powder snow? Ever?

The snow is just now moving into Manning and Sumter and making it's way towards Columbia. Supposed to start here at 3:00. The picture I was sent of Manning shows it as just snow so that is good. I am sending everyone home at 2:00 just to be safe.

Hope all your pipes survive!

You're worried about pipes? Pipes shouldn't be freezing unless you let your house get below 50.

It's up to 20 today. Son and family say goodbye to -10 weather only to arrive in Jacksonville last night to a winter storm warning. lol

Fortunately for him and you SC folks it will be gone as quick as it arrived.

Whoops. My eyes lacked the effort to look at your location given your username.

I seen that. Yikes.
