We had a few cold ones in December with some decent snow, but Ohio has been surprisingly warm the last 2 weeks or more...60+ degrees during the day, and only 44 during the night. Around here that's shorts and sandals weather anytime...well, at least for me. This is the reverse of last year, which felt like one of the coldest damn winters we had in a long time.
That's been pretty much through the Midwest. Glad it's been rain instead of snow. Otherwise we'd have about 6ft of snow with all of the rain. Wife and I drove up to Kenosha, WI. on Sunday and it was 45 up there. Met a guy from Michigan who lives about 100 miles north of Green Bay. He said winter has been mild up there compared to their normal winters.
Get ready though. The last week of January and first three weeks of February are usually the worst of the winter.
