Meh, overrated. The beach is fun like twice in a summer before you begin to get tired of developing melanoma while half naked and covered in sand. It's better in the winter when it's not so crowded and lake is angrier.

Coastal forests are my jam though and where I am most at home.

Kind of agree on the beach... it's fun as a kid but as an adult I really don't enjoy sitting on the beach, the sand, the sun, the mess... I'm good going to the beach, finding a nice place to eat and just being oceanside, but not setting foot on the sand.

Completely agree. Went to the beach this year for the first time in ages. My Irish skin doesn't agree with it, and I don't want to find sand in crevasses 3 weeks later... Now, walking the boardwalk, eating awesome food, and being on the water, yeah I can do that.

There are tons of places to walk to and explore or throw the football. Bocci ball is great. Anyway we dont park oursleves in the surf for hours.

From Pawleys Island to Jacksonville Fl the entire coast is like my pic. Minus Hilton Head and Savannah.

I want to add also that you are talking about the Redneck Riviera. That is really just around the Myrtle Beach Metro Area.I avoid MB at all costs, unfortunately my parents live there now. Yay!

They don't have many real I-talians down there in South Carolina, huh? First, it's spelled bocce, not bocci. Second, it's not called "bocce ball," it's just called "bocce," full stop. You play bocce with bocce balls.

On wiz' fireplace, I hate the white paint over exposed brick fireplaces trend... it's clearly going to be one of those decor tricks everyone looks back on and cringes over like rose covered wall paper or shag carpeting. ftr I have a fireplace much like wiz' and it took some effort to stop my mom from talking my wife into painting over it.
