Haven’t been active here in many years, but just popping in to say hell yeah, my dudes

Really happy for Book. I’ll admit I’ve had my doubts that he could step up in this caliber of game, but he was fucking cold blooded tonight and had the defining game of his life.

Go Irish!

Just, you know, not if we face each other later...still a lot of dominoes that have to fall and all

In fact, can you guys just give us this one? I heard Covid year doesn't count anyway.

Oh dang, I'd forgotten who Mr Bishops team is. Consider that withdrawn.
Wishing his family good luck not his team.

I understand. :)

For two decades, the Irish have endured the slights and jokes, a team whose greatness ended with the Grunge era, a facade always waiting to be exposed by the truly elite. But on Saturday, Book willed Notre Dame to a win over the top-ranked team in the country, not through some trick play or cheap call, but by one heavyweight blow after another.

This is the biggest thing about this win IMO. ND wasn’t lucky. In fact they made a few big mistakes. Refs didn’t bail them out either, if anything that no call PI was a significant moment. ND just straight up outplayed them.

I applaud Ian for his resilience. I expected the usual result vs a top 3 team, even with their "big guns" out. My Lord, there is little drop off on that team. Hats off to Mayer for staying strong, warrior. Avery Davis have a year. Shayne Simon balled out. Hats off to our OL and to Kyren picking up blitzers like an absolute boss. Finally, Clemson probably has the best coaching staff in the country, but Dabo is A #1 whiny lil bitch. If I had any respect for that guy coming into this game, it's completely gone. Great win Irish!!!!!!

Agree completely on the Dabo take. He tries to come across in interviews as this pious, southern Christian gentlemen, but when the chips were down against him, he showed his true colors.

Got up this morning smiling.

D was wearing down in the 4th. Not sure where they found their second wind in OT but they crushed them.

Wife is upstairs reading- we’re winning 23-10

She comes downstairs as she tracks the games to gauge my mood- We are down 26-33

I encourage her to go upstairs-we go ahead and score the game winning TD. She then safely returned downstairs

My 6 year old stayed up until the very end to watch the game with me. It looked like he was ready to fall asleep at the end of regulation but he managed to stay up and watch OT with me. I’m so glad I got to celebrate a win with him.

A game that looked like an ‘ND type of game’ the entire 2nd half and this team manages to squeak by the #1 team in the county.

Light the #1 sign.

Enjoy it now. Rumors are swirling the season will be vacated because some kids ran onto the field. That seems to be all anyone wants to talk about today lol.

All kidding aside, Dabo was great post game. Someone tried to get him upset about it, and he basically said:

It was an epic game. I loved it.

I was so ready to read the "Irish come up short, but moral victory" story that every sports writer had copied/pasted from last time.

I'm still absolutely shocked the team finally decided that moral victories weren't good enough. Ian Book played like the dude we thought he could be.

I work with a ton of Clemson fans/grads. Monday is gonna be glorious.

Beating them while having the three trips to the red zone resulting in only six points, completely dominating them in the run game, and absolutely beating the **it out for them physically, I will be getting free lunches for the next couple weeks!!

Great game - congrats to BK and Book. I hope this game sends the confidence these guys should have in themselves through the roof.

Bring on Trevor...

I know I’ve said it already but the defensive line was very impressive. I figured they would do well but not shut them down like they did

I don’t think anyone had said how good Doerer was. 4-5 of FGs, only missing that 57 yarder.

Not taking anything away from them, they played inspired BALL and they're talented but Clemson O line is average. Clemson can drink their wait until Lawrence gets back kool-aid but their downfall will be that line with or without TL.

Yeah - that is what gives me some confidence for the rematch. ND left points on the field AND the Clemson O-Line is not very good.

@Cack, after last night’s result, what are entitled to under South Carolina state law? Are you the new governor? I assume you at least get a plantation somewhere or get to tear down down a Baptist church and replace it with a Catholic one.

I will need to re-watch the game. But I'm very pleased.

O-line did their job. We left points on the field. Book played very well. Defense did what they needed to do. Travis who?

Proud of the guys.

Total team win. Hard not to be extremely proud of this entire team.

We left some points out there too which is the scary thing. We can still get better.

Trevor is better than DJ, but seriously how much more passing yards could we have given up? The bigger effect of having Trevor and not DJ is that it might clean up the meshes on the RB handoffs, which were not crisp and clearly handicapped their runs (and lead directly to 7 points).

I talked to a neighbor that is a Clemson grad today, and he is one of those Southern guys that thinks ND is a joke.

He said Clemson might not have won last night with TL, but then rambled about the synchronicity TL and Etienne have, and how the lack of it caused him to not be the factor he normally is.

Ill take it though. Thats the best Ive ever gotten from him.
