Best game-changing defensive play I can remember. It's not like we were going to lose but in a single defensive act, he punched the ball out and prevented 7 pts, then recovered and gave us another possession. 14 pt swing by one player not giving up.
I seriously can't remember another play by a single player like that For an entire defense, the Stanford goal line stand was great but single defensive player heroics are hard to produce.
Deke Cooper against BC in '98 still sticks out, but yeah doesn't happen often.
what a great play that was. unblocked to stop mike cloud in the backfield, thought for sure cloud would score.
I also like allen rossum in '95 at Washington, pick 6 at the end of the game to secure the win after Udub drove into field goal range to kick the game winner.
Tommy yanking the ball right out of Michigan State's hands, as they were driving to score, and running it back for a TD is another defensive player heroic effort. It ended up being the difference in the game, and the QB delayed reaction is great:
