Pretty obvious, barring something unforeseen, TaRiq Bracy will be a starter next season. He deserves it and I think he'll be a good one. Doe Crawford start opposite of him or do they use him like they did in 2019? Rutherford and Wallace have impressed; maybe they'll get the nod.

Start him for sure, even if they rotate a lot to keep the tank full.
Surely out of Bracy, Crawford, Wallace, Rutherford, Hart and the freshmen there is a good unit.

In Jamie U's instant reaction he speculates that you probably only start one of Bracy/Crawford to the field and then another guy with more size to the Boundary. Obviously some of that has to do with expected performance yet to be seen from other guys.

With that said, even if Crawford were to start at Field over Bracy, you are probably playing Bracy a ton of snaps in Nickel/Dime packages when Crawford moves to the Nickel CB role. Also, they will more than likely limit Crawfords snaps so he can withstand a full season.

I don't know if the bylaws that govern having 6th years awarded have changed over the years but it used to be that you had to have experienced some sort of event that caused you to not be enrolled for at least one semester, maybe two (don't remember).

I was awarded a 6th year by the NCAA. I only received the 6th year because I was out of school for two semesters after a death in the family which left me to care for a younger sibling until their school year was complete. I probably wouldn't have gotten the year but I had a messed up athletic career / life even before that happened.

Crawford wouldn't have received a 6th year in my day which admittedly was somewhere in between fire and wheel.

I remember in BK’s first presser after Crawford’s injury in ‘18, someone asked if Shaun would be eligible for a 5th year and healthy for the start of ‘19.

I’m pretty sure that BK said something along the lines of “not only will he be back next year, but we’ve already got him approved for a 6th year if we get that far.”

I’m extremely happy for Crawford. He’s got the honey badger mentality. Provided he gets approval, and stays healthy I think it’s very possible he returns to form. For all the negatives at times, things seem to usually work out. We lost a 4* and gain that and more if he can return.

I believe one of the criteria now is if a player misses the majority of consecutive seasons. Crawford definitely meets that criteria if that is in fact one

Tyler James from SBT tweeted that his waiver has been approved by the NCAA. Sorry, the embed tweet option is not available
