Is there a way to get that ticker on one's phone. Haha....
Iphone has It in the middle top, a bit small but readable. Look for the :
Golson is going to beastmode this year, I feel it in my gizzards. Hopefully he has a great year and gets drafted. On the flip side, I hope even more that Malik takes charge and carries us to some big wins. Should be a fun year to watch football. I CAN"T WAIT!!!
Very nice!! Going to make my annual trip to Hilton Head and watch from the beach. Have been going there for 10+ years with a few exceptions. The only times I didn't go, we lost. Belize trip was a loss to USF, St. Pete was a loss to GA Tech. Won't be deviating again until we open with a D2 team lol.

If this is true, I really don't care. They had the right to block him, thems the brakes...
That being said, I am still not sold that they actually blocked him. I think Golson talked to Strong, then informed BK about his desire to transfer and BK told him that they would block UT. Then Golson pursued other schools. Intent and Action are two different things. If he would have tried to pursue the act of the transfer, then ND would have acted on their intent of blocking him.
Semantics, I suppose.

Golson going back to ND for week 1? That'd be a recipe for disaster on his end, regardless of the rest of the schedule.
Maybe that's why they ratted him out to BK, they weren't as close as we were led to believe.
I dunno. We would still be favored I think, but the weak link at Texas is certainly at the QB position. The OL isn't particularly great either, but they'll get there. I have a very good feeling Strong will have that program in a good place in another year or two, and Golson could have helped them make a serious step up if he would have went there. I'm glad he got blocked though, and I'm surprised they were so high on his list given how much he thinks of his former players supposedly. I would hate to play against my former team mates, win or lose. Maybe that's why they ratted him out to BK, they weren't as close as we were led to believe.
Just factually not true. People really need to check their facts. First of all, ND didn't block Golson from anywhere. They would have tried to block Golson if he attempted to go to Texas. ND let him know that. He never filed paperwork to be allowed to transfer to Texas, and was never blocked.
That's really a distinction without a difference. If ND told him that they would block him if he filed the paperwork, why file the paperwork?
Disagree.
If he really wanted to go to Texas, then he would have at least formally requested a release to there.
The truth is that while ND could've tried to block him going to Texas they likely wouldn't have been successful. Golson didn't push for it, because his number one choice was FSU, and ND gave him the green light for that from the beginning.
There's a difference between:
Golson: Here are some schools I have interest in.
ND: OK well we really don't want you going to Texas, but we're fine with all the others.
Golson: That's fine. I want to go to FSU.
And the bullsh*t Strong just put out there:
Golson: Texas is my #1 school and I'm transferring to Texas.
ND: OK well we're filing paperwork to block that transfer. Pick a second choice.
Golson: Alright I guess I'll go to FSU.
The two scenarios are more different than semantics.

I think there is a difference based on the facts presented.
1) Charlie Strong said Everett Golson did contact him.
2) Texas topped his transfer list.
3) Didn't work out because ND blocked him
The cause and effect is assumed, not proven.
Let's assume I am standing in an airport terminal. I am facing 3 gates, all with flights leaving to Hawaii. While standing in front of gate A, I say out loud, "Woo hoo, I'm going to Hawaii." The boarding agent looks at my ticket and says, "If you try to board this plane, I will call security." I walk to gate B and get on that plane. Did the agent "block" me from entering gate A? No. All I said was I am going to Hawaii. But I never intended to enter gate A.
Charlie Strong's statement assumes more than what statement B represents. As was pointed out earlier, Golson would not have called other schools and said "You're somewhere in the middle of my list," or "You're pretty close to the bottom." I don't think it is proven that Golson decided to attend Texas and but for ND saying it would block him, he would have actually gone there.
Huh?
When some of the players found out Everett was definitely transferring they broke the news to BK.
Why wouldn't they have been successful if they had tried to block Texas? Not arguing...just curious.
