Awesome kid. Awesome story. Bummer of an ending to his playing career, but stuff happens. One of my all time faves to cheer on.

What a fantastic player and great human being. So sad he will miss the rest of his season but am ever so grateful that we got a chance to see him mature and grow into the fine young man that he is today! He definently represented Notre Dame well!

I have little doubt that Lou has benefited from the easy access that contemporary media provides in our forming our respective opinions. I have no doubt that his character, ability, personality, dedication and tenacity would stand in good stead with any of Notre Dame's legendary players or coaches, regardless.

Keep smiling, Lou. Do well and do good.

Getting your knee scoped for a meniscus is a joke in terms of rehab. I think the tendonitis could potentially be a bigger issue as it's not an easy thing to get rid of.

I may be selfish but I still hoping he decides to come back with Tuit next year!!!

If enough is removed, rehab can prove VERY difficult. Standing for too long can be come extremely painful, let alone 40-50 snaps of FBS football. We're talking about bone on bone pain potentially.

Everyone is different but Louis as an athlete should recover relatively well. I'm a weekend warrior that has had both knees scoped (trimmed in one and removed in the other) and I was walking the next day and squatting 4-6 weeks (can't remember exactly) with no issue whatsoever. Years later effects (arthritis) are being felt in the knee that had the meniscus removed and that is the main reason why many docs suggest most people forego the surgery and try to live with the little annoyance of a damaged meniscus. Tendonitis on the other hand can be an annoying, frustrating bitch of an issue to resolve.

Louis weighing ~350 lbs doesn't help his situation lol

“@BGI_DanMurphy: No Louis Nix coming out of the tunnel (as far as I could see). He said last year one of the reasons he came back was for that moment.”

As crazy as it sounds, what other reason could he have for not doing the family thing?

Either his family didn't show up or he is coming back???

He made it out on the field with his parents. Great to see!

He did? That's great. Wish they would have showed it on NBC (they managed to get a Collinsworth family shot in, of course. Also Rees, Jones, Martin, a few others.)

It was great to see him out on the field with his mom for senior day. A thought crossed my mind as I watched him crutch off the field. With him missing four of our last five games and our bowl game....is there a chance he comes back next year?

Not when you have your ND degree you're a probable top 10 pick.

His tiny little man parts would cream his pants up good if either played for Pitt...

Can't see the video. But the argument's pointless if he's not basing it on a projected draft pick. What's the current market for these two? Where is Mark drawing the line? Top 10 for Nix? Top 20 for Tuitt?

The video is almost a year old, but he's just saying that Tuitt and Nix are a bit overrated because Mel Kiper has an infatuation with ND. Nothing big, and I even thought it was an instance where May was being genuine.
