I love the change in the thread title, simply hasn't been a more charming and personable ambassador for the program, and a shining example of the journey through "Notre Dame experience", which can and often does include homesickness and doubts, ups and downs, but in the end features perseverance, and victory on the way to "Notre Dame Man".

13. San Diego Chargers: Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame: The Chargers need to work on their defense. In a 3-4, having a capable nose tackle is key. A player like Nix can occupy multiple blockers, opening things up for the team's middle linebackers. Cornerbacks like Jason Verrett of TCU and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu of Oregon also make sense.

Nix and Te'o made a pretty solid tandem in the middle last season. Would love to see them together again.

Any team that plays a 3-4 that has a QB, left tackle, and lacking a NT would be foolish to pass on Nix. I really believe he is the next Vince Wilfork and a player teams will have to gameplan around.

Fox Sports has him going 15th to the Giants, fwiw.

15. New York Giants

Louis Nix III, DT, Notre Dame

Nix has battled some injuries, the worst being the season-ending knee injury that required surgery last month. While there are some doubts as to whether he will come out (he is expected to graduate this month but has a season of eligibility remaining), he certainly fits the Giants mold. Tough, smart, and active up front. Can rush the quarterback and also stuff the run in the middle.

is it illegal to bring along players on recruiting visits?

how cool would it be to bring a guy like nix to an in home visit with Elam so he can tell him out it is from a player's perspective.

probably illegal the more i think about it unfortunately for us.

Meh not so much since we got Beason. We need help outside but I don't like drafting linebackers in the first round anyway. Giants have had a lot of success taking the BPA (Best Player Available) in the 1st round so if Nix is there ~15 they better damn well take him.

Please, please, please let him go to the Giants. Take Stephon Tuitt, too, while you're at it so we can have an all ND defensive line.(kidding bout the Tuitt part)

I never cared for the Giants before Tuck got there, they've been one of my favs since... I would love to see Tuck and Nix together.

As an Eagles fan, this would make me puke. Lou going to Dallas is the only scenario that could be worse.

I honestly would be fine if lou stayed away from the NFC East entirely...or wait a year and then declare and get picked up by my redskins...Anywhere but Dallas or NY...personally don't care either way about philly

The path that you have walked is familiar to so many that have spent time under the dome, we see our experiences in yours, though you have had a stage not many of us will know and you have handled your self as only you could. You have been the greatest of ambassadors. May the road rise up to meet you.

Just saw this on Twitter. A little sad, but not unexpected. Big man will earn big bucks and has his degree.

dude needs to go for his sake...i'd hate for something terrible to happen to him next year...he's got nothing else to prove and we know he loves ND

he doesn't owe us or the university anything more. go enjoy yourself and get paid
