Kelly doubters, GAIII haters, Tommy Rees skeptic, defense 'oversellers', this victory is for you. They played the most complete game of the year against a good team, and proved they are better than what happened vs. Oklahoma last week. The bye week is placed perfectly, and I'm looking forward to smashing U$C for the first time in quite a few years.

Go Irish!

It wasn't pretty, and I get pretty down on them at times, but talk about a buzzkill. ENJOY A WIN OVER A RANKED TEAM!

Rees is not the answer, the defense played well but they need to play even better to come close to what is expected and they need to find 1 RB.

Give Malik the keys and see what happens, no guarantee EG is coming back. Get more of the freshmen out there to get game ready and start building for next year.

I appreciate the excitement but as a GAIII supporter this was not one of his finer moments.

Progress was made.

Rees is the equivalent of a lottery ticket.

GAIII has potential but isn't showing it.

Daniels is Floyd 1.5.

Defense is better, but Grace being hurt is a HUGE setback.

Nix is out of shape.

Tuitt is finally getting in shape.

Jaylon is, and will be the man and the first pick in the draft in 2016 or 2017.

TJ plays his *** off.

I can't wait to see this team next year and beyond with EG, MZ and DK running the pistol, with our D growing in potential except Nix and Tuitt will be hard to replace when they're gone..

Go Irish!!!

Played we'll and got a win. Glad to be wrong but I'm still skeptical and nervous about USC

Wtf. Nix is out of shape. When has he ever been in shape.

Anyway, Nix is the best player on he defense and consorts fly beat double teams today. Barring an injury kid is going to be a to 15 pick.

So you're telling me Rees had a great game and BK called a great game?

We also beat SC two out of the last three years.

Dude. Knock it off. Your "I'm nervous about (fill in the blank)" act is getting old. We could play Charleston Southern next week and you'd say you're nervous.

Yeah. That's a really bad idea. Maybe had we lost tonight. But this is still a team with a clear shot at a BCS bowl. Silly to throw that away. We're playing plenty of freshmen as it is.

What makes you think Nix is out of shape, the fact a 350 lbs NT can't chase down a WR on a reverse? Nix plays with a high motor for a high volume of plays and pursues more than most DL. I have no idea what you've been watching.

While we have beat U$C 2 out of 3, we haven't beat them by much, and this is the year to claim revenge for the curbstompings they dealt us 2000-2009. Tommy of course isn't the answer, but he's what we've got while EG is out, and in my opiniom we are very lucky to be in the situation we're in.

Beating usc when they are a down program who just lost a head coach means nothing. Sure its a win. But would you go around bragging you beat up Muhammad Ali in the condition he is today? USC doesnt have any where near the status as they did back with Pete Carrol.

USC counted all the wins over two decades of mediocre coaching.

Holtz didn't give any wins back for beating the likes of Tollner during his win streak!

After U$C pounded us year after year after year, we finally get a couple close nail biting wins, but I want to pound it down their throats and repay for failures from years past. '02, '03, '04, '06, '07, and '08 we were beat by at least 20 points, but most of those years by closer to 40. Regardless of U$C's situation, a thumping of those bastards is long overdue, and two weeks from today, they will be laughed off the field.

Nix isn't out of shape. Kelly has repeatedly talked about how his play volume has improved, though he is probably playing too much this year. Wish we had more D-line depth to give him a breather more.
