Yes...anytime people can bring about change...I applaud it.

No...the entire world suffers when the middle east is not ruled by despot SECULAR assholes, and the middle east itself spirals into a humanitarian crisis beyond anything a despot could impose.

Fixed

Very valid point UNTIL you inject the coming of Jesus who created a new covenant and did away with the old.

Old Testament was harsh. God had his chosen people and the non chosen were driven forth. That was established and time passed.

Then the Messiah came and changed it all.

Why didn't the messiah come before the flood?
What was the point of drowning nearly every man, woman, and child just to watch humanity slowly grow and screw it all up again, THEN send Christ?

Seems to me an all knowing God would have seen that one coming.
Seems to me an all loving God could have done without the genocide.

Don't get caught up on timelines. Cuz as a car guy I'll make you explain how Detroit gave us the 60's followed by the 70's, 80's and 90's. Something's are beyond comprehension.

This is textbook Theology 201 stuff, and these basic questions have been "answered" (at least in philosophical/logical sense) for literally hundreds of years. Whether or not you choose to accept any of myriad of explanations theological scholars have put forth is your prerogative... but if you actually wanted answers (and weren't being rhetorical, which I think you were) there are plenty of books, papers, and free sources online that could give you an answer with a Google search.

WHO is saying that? Literally nobody.

Nippledicks on Fox News last night were throwing around WW3 rhetoric - didn't take long to switch over to Flip or Flop on HGTV. O'Reilly was the show - expect that out of Hannity more than him.

It is textbook theology, I studied it deeply in my 2 years of bible college. Believe me, I used to be the one regurgitating those answers. It's honestly not about my willingness to accept them or not. You've never met anyone who wanted to accept them more than me. The book never squared with me morally, as much as I wanted it to.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I'll leave it at that.

Lets all agree that:
1. ISIS are a bunch of bastards that deserve to be butt raped.
2. Prayers for France.

I sure hope you're posting that knowing the difference between Old and New Testament, the context etc. Or just to be cheeky.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

I was posting that to point out that a person can cherry pick quotes from the Bible, not just the Koran, to justify killing the followers of other religions.

Yeah, you CAN do that with any religion, but one religion in particular actually IS doing it.

Is that really any different than what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing? The obvious difference between the two is the number of followers, but both are doing essentially the same thing.

WBC is disgusting, but unless I've missed something they haven't murdered anyone....

Perhaps HE was the original global warming doubter??

Pre-history focus groups didn't buy into global warming either. Flood story easier to sell ... every 10,000 years or so.

Did that analogy look as good on the screen after you hit Submit Reply as it sounded in your head as you were typing it? I have a few of those sneak up on me too from time to time.

The Message is in the Myth.

or perhaps

The Myth is in the Message.

or perhaps

The Mania is in the Myth.

or perhaps

The Mania is in the Message.

Or is it that the Massage is the Medium is the Myth?

I know that. I didn't realize that I had to spell it out for everyone, that I was speaking in the narrow terms of cherry picking religious quotes to twist the message to something that they want to convince others of. IN THAT SENSE (and that sense only), they are doing essentially the same thing.

Am I the only one who missed Westboro beheading, stoning, etc?

They're crude and rude but not killing anyone, to my knowledge, nor advocating doing so to those not sharing their viewpoints. Big difference.

His "enhanced interrogation techniques" include force feeding suspects stale baguettes, chewy croissants, and cheese that isn't quite pungent enough. They'll fold. They always fold.

....thats funny.

But good on Fenchie...I'll be interested to see how they handle these guys.
