ND Men's Basketball 2014-15 Season

Played well tonight albeit against poor competition. DJ has really stepped his game up from last year and is looking to potentially be a dynamic player. Together with Grant forms a formidable backcourt. Connaughton is a very good player. If we can get decent contributions from Vasturia, Auguste, and Torres should be a very good team.

watch it buddy

On to FSU.
Hopefully the refs can chicken on the whistle in the end if need be.

Oh man, on a broader basketball note, the Skunks just dropped one at home to EMU. NJIT and Eastern Michigan? Grab the popcorn. I can't wait to see what's next.

According to reporters, Steve was told to play more aggressive. If he keeps playing with this type of intensity, he's really going to help solidify this team. This is one of the most balanced offensive lineups that brey has assembled. All of these guys could had 15+ on any given day.
And once VJ is back, we'll have a 6th man that can add significant scoring when someone is having an off day.

Man, I'm excited for this season. We just need to play more physical and aggressive on the boards. Really, our only two weaknesses at this point.

Staples of a Brey-coached team. Still, we are so much better defensively than we were last year. I'm still pissed about that Providence loss, but I still think we can win out before ACC play.

Also really hoping the VJ injury is a tiny blessing in disguise. I'd love for us to be able to consistently bring in 4 guys off the bench and not have the tiny 7-man or 8-man rotation that Brey goes with.

It's easy to coach that once you've recruited the HaranCooley twins.

Brey will never go 4 deep on the bench and the style of coaching will never produce "tough" defense/rebounding mentality. The minute VJ is back, we will figure out who #9 is because we won't hear his name called all season.

I imagine the football recruits visiting for the banquet will be going to this game? Hopefully they can blow them out.

Just came on ESPN2 if anyone feels like cheering for a win over the Noles tonight.

Would be great to start conference play with a win, especially after rough debut in the ACC last season. FSU is off to a horrible start this year with several bad losses so we should be able to win this one.

Playing above the rim more tonight than I can ever remember seeing ND play. Auguste has had a monster game tonight and both guards continue to look amazing. I don't want to read too much into this game because FSU is garbage, but I really like this ND team, should be a fun year!

This is easily the most fun ND team I have watched. Just so much more athletic than a usual Brey Team

If we can't make the Sweet 16 this year, it's never gonna happen lol.

We're pretty stacked, finally. Really fun team to watch.

God imagine if Biedschied had panned out. We'd be a top 10 team easy

Fun to watch so far, hitting 56% from the floor over 40% on 3s, out rebounding opponents low turnovers but is ND really talented this year or are they just beating up a bunch of nobodies?

Sagarin lists ND with the 351st Toughest Schedule as of 12/12/14.

Sagarin lists 351 teams.

Michigan St is Sagarin's Predictor's 16th ranked team, good win!

Providence, a loss, is 95th.

I didn't notice anyone else in Sagarin's Top 100.

Florida St wasn't included and will help ... barely. FSU is ranked at 215.

Wow, hope I can catch a few games on TV to see what we have. I really wasn't expecting much this year. Still plenty early and a tough ACC slate to see what we are really made of.

Looking forward to three games w/in a few miles of home. Going to the NC State game for sure and if we are really good I will pay up to see UNC and maybe even Duke down here.

ND #21 in both polls.

Sagarin #25.

Sagarin ranks ND's Strength of Schedule at 350 up one spot from last week's dead last 351.

My wife and I went to our first ND home game Saturday night and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was amazing during a couple of the larger runs ND had (especially the big one late in the first half). A lot of athleticism and more dunks than we could have hoped for. Auguste was a beast inside. Looking forward to our next visit on Jan 10th vs #6 Virginia!
