David Shaw loving the news out of South Bend this morning.

What's his new pitch to the next Cali safety he's up against ND for? "If you like Weed and Guns come to Stanford cuz you'll get busted at ND?"

In regards to the other 5... he's on the record saying recruits from their states are too dumb to go to Stanford anyways.

Lol good luck with that. There are "dry campuses" everywhere but that doesn't stop the students from getting shit faced.

I've been saying it for some time. There's trouble in Palo Alto. They need Sarell and Walker in the worst way. They are running out of 4-5 stars and depending on low .80 Comp guys like Johnny Caspers to develop into top tier lineman. Sooner or later, you run out of surprises.

Do you think picking up guys like this helps, hurts or has no impact on whether Sarell or Foster choose Stanford?

Stars mean the least as far as offensive linemen go IMO. They are the toughest position to predict. 3 stars make it huge all the time, and 5 stars bust all the time...more than any other position IIRC.

Perhaps Stanford expected more K-State fans, who were expected to number 6,000 to travel the 1700 miles.

K-State welcomes Stanford to Manhattan in 2021. How many Cardinal fans will travel there?

Stanford failed to monitor softball program activities | NCAA.org - The Official Site of the NCAA

Additionally, two boosters impermissibly provided nearly $3,500 in extra benefits to a football student-athlete, including an impermissible loan, free use of an automobile, meals and other extra benefits. The football student-athlete lived with the boosters through a program created by the school in which student-athletes paid rent for short-term housing. The program was discontinued by the university because of the risk associated with it.

All the penalties were levied against softball though, lol.

it was ex WR Devon Cajuste (who literally beat ND by himself) who received the $3,500 in impermissible benefits

So do you hope Stanford beats USC because fuck USC. or do you hope USC wins and upsets a top 10 team.

Pull for an SC win and then a 1 loss Irish team beats the eventual PAC champion Trojans in LA on the last weekend. Best optics available.

If Stanford wins, pull for them to win the PAC.

Idk. I get flashes of 2014 where I think one more loss at the end of the year will make SC quit for the showdown in the Coliseum.

I think beating an unbeaten Stanford at home will look better, so I guess I hope that they win 3-0.

With the news of impermissible benefits coming to light, we can now refer to them as $tanford!

Go Cardinal. I want to follow up our big win against MSU against another big win against Stanford. You do the most movement early in the year in the rankings, and it's tough to move at the end of the year. Beating a ranked team earlier is better than later IMO.

Yea....the committee hasn't made a big deal about conference championships or anything like that.

I keeeeed. Really though, it's more about quantity than timing, but when quantity is equal among teams, "what have you done for me lately" is king, thus CCG bias.

Why do you guys try to debate this? NOTHING will do ND more good than SC to run the table and be 11-1... and ND beats them on the road. Why bother trying to devise another scenario? Big wins late matter, especially over the eventual PAC champs.

I don't think it matters as long as whoever wins this game needs to run the table the rest of the way, except when we play them.
