Stanford kills USC, then Monday Stanford gets busted for benefits and angel dust.
never root for usc... ever
This guy gets it. I'd rather have a wooden pencil inserted into my urethra than pull for southern cal. They are the lowest form of life on the planet---the ISIL of south central.
But seriously, have you seen Michigan?
usc is #1 and michigan #2 on the lowest life meter
I get that some members on this board dislike USC more for idiosyncratic reason, but no one remotely familiar with our program's history can honestly make that argument.
I understand a lot of members here live in michigan but that doesn't make them our biggest rival.

USC is our biggest rival. Michigan is several orders below them on the "lowest life meter." I'm with Whiskey, this should be a consensus agreement for all Irish fans.
I've attended several game at southern cal and several at Michigan (I think 6). I've been harassed by southern cal fans but never by Michigan fans. Ohio State and Florida fans are some of the worst I've encountered. In fact, I've received more harassment from Purdue fans than Michigan fans. Don't get me wrong: I hate Michigan, but I absolutely loathe southern cal. If there were no legal repercussions, I'd burn the southern cal campus to the ground so I can piss in the ashes.
You're kind of proving the point. Your personal experiences peculiar to you trump the long history of our relationships with Michigan and USC.
We have a level of respect with USC that will never exist with Michigan.
Also, you've never been harassed by Michigan fans? And you grew up roughly from age 12 to 22 while watching the Irish win every game against USC and you feel that negatively about the Trojans? That's impressive.

I hate everything about michigan, but usc is just on another level everything from their band to their coach and their thug players. fusc

Go check the relative "long" histories against southern cal and Michigan.
Our record against Michigan: 17-24-1 (42 games)
Our record against southern cal: 46-36-5 (87 games)
We've played more than twice as many games against southern cal than we have against Michigan. We have a level of respect with USC? Who's "we"? You talk about personal experience---I have no respect for that cesspool of a program. If you know anything about the rivalry, southern cal was traditionally the main target by far of ND's odium. ESPN and the media think of southern cal as a legendary college football program. All of their history is derived from teams that were bought and subsequently ended up on probation. A proud tradition, my ass.
Again, I hate Michigan. But words fails to describe my hatred for southern cal. Awful campus, awful fans, awful program. Hate 'em.
Where were you supposed to go with the whole citation of the series against each program? For your next history lesson may I propose speaking about the circumstances surrounding how we began to play each school? That'd be a good place to start.
And by "we" I mean the leadership of the school and its leaders. There's 90 years of respect even though we are very different.
Plus, Kelly fucking loathes Michigan and you won't see Swarbrick handing a fuck you letter to USC anytime soon.
EVERY SC fan I know would gladly lose to ND EVERY year if they could beat their real rival, UCLA.
Not from the fans that I know, plus go on the sc website and you will see a lot that hate ND more than UCLA
You mentioned a long relationship with Michigan that somehow, at least as I read you, trumps my personal experience with southern cal. I was pointing out that the series against Michigan isn't half as long as the series against southern cal in terms of games played. Given that our relationship with southern cal is more extensive (not older, but longer in terms of contact) blows a hole in whatever claim you're trying to make. Using your criterion, ND should have a stronger rivalry with the University of Cincinnati since it's an older rivalry since we last played in 1900.
Our first game was against Michigan in 1887. We played them from 1887 to 1900; then from 1902, 1908-1909; then 1942-1943. When did we play them after the 1940s? Not until 1978. Did you know that? You probably didn't but won't admit it. We've played southern cal every year since 1926 except during WWII. If you think Michigan is our biggest rival since we played them in our first game in 1887 but really didn't play them regularly until the 1970s (yet southern cal isn't as big of a rival despite playing them virtually every year since 1926), then I don't know what to tell you.
You want to tell me about the opinion of the school and its' leaders about the southern cal vs. Michigan debate? Seriously? When did you graduate from ND? Not to be a dick, but I know for a fact that the ND administration would acknowledge southern cal to be our biggest football rival. And I know many at ND who have zero respect for southern cal. A lot of people in the athletics department know southern cal runs a dirty program historically.
Kelly hates Michigan more than southern cal? So Michigan is ND's biggest rival. Therefore, Dan Devine hated Georgia Tech more than southern cal. So by your argument Georgia Tech was our biggest rival in the late 1970s. Right, got it.
usc is #1 and michigan #2 on the lowest life meter
Sarell and Little both plan to take officials to Stanford at a later date. Sarell's family added they wanted to see a Cardinal game day atmosphere this fall as he'll return in January after the season.
...
David Shaw and Stanford already have two five-star commits in quarterback Davis Mills and tight end Colby Parkinson. Both will attend the game against the Trojans as well.
Those pointing out Michigan are doing so from the 'they are the worst' standpoint... not so much from a 'they are our single biggest rival' standpoint, there is a difference... and USC is clearly, easily, our biggest rival... I don't even think the skunkbears make the top five honestly... I mean we just recently began playing them every year and it didn't last... (thank goodness)
No.
I don't recall U$C displaying religious bigotry against Notre Dame.
I don't recall U$C campaigning for other schools to stop playing Notre Dame.
Right. I think the difference is USC is our rival, but Michigan is our enemy. You can respect a rival (Although there's very little there for the Trojans...certainly more respect for a team like Navy). You have no respect for a skunkbear.
