would this be a night game along with the USC game?

Not sure. I think the NBC contract allows 3 night games in a 2 year period and last year we had Sparty and Stanford at night. Maybe that's changed or I'm misremembering.

2/3 years ago ( when the program was on an uptick ) I was looking forward to this game as I live near Atl and really have taken some serious abuse because I wear my Notre Dame gear everywhere. Now---well lets just say it wont be pretty---don't see any way they can win this game. Georgia will run the ball at will.

I live in area as well and I don't see them running at will. Their OL is weak. I'll be shocked if ND doesn't win this game.

Oh please. No way ND can win this game? Against 8-5 Georgia? Here's an inconvenient fact for your doom and gloom... Georgia finished last year ranked 59th by Football Outsiders. Notre Dame finished 29th. Notre Dame is getting much better on both sides of the ball... is Georgia? Because last year's sucky squad would've been favored over the Bulldogs.

How much do you want to bet on what kind of line? Real money. If you're so confident I'm willing to take ND +7 for any amount you want.

Tbf Jacob Eason should take a giant leap.

I am as well, especially the tailgating. UGA fans have been been great whenever I have come across them tailgating in Jacksonville, Knoxville and Athens. Should be a really fun day.

That could be the game-wrecker right there.

Eason has his coming-out, not-a-frosh-anymore party against ND.

On the flip side, we could be sitting on a pretty good QB with a nice OL in front of him.

It would be really cool if we could come out super vanilla against Temple and go into this game with everyone talking about how good Eason looked against App St. Then surprise them with a Wimbush assault.

The Law of "ND's First Game Against a 'Cupcake' Every Year Except 2009 and 2012" says that we are going to need to open up the entire playbook to scrape by Temple in a 24-21 win.

and then gut out a 'good loss' against UGA due in large part to some form of bad call (most likely targeting) that goes against ND at some critical moment.... Hollywood has trouble pumping out more predictable squeals...

No the ND way is to demolish UGA then be utterly mediocre for the rest of the season.

Mr. Elko will be ready for young Mr. Eason.

I think/hope you're right. Elko seems to be everything we wanted to this point...

But we thought the same about BVG and his system after scUM and Stanford in '14 lol. I'm in "Show Me" mode with the whole program now.

Check out the posts when Jon Tenuta joined the program in 2008. He was proclaimed a defensive genius. He wasn't merely a "BEAST", he ate raw haunches of venison for breakfast according to posts here. His defense would swallow offenses whole. ND would have a better defense than Barry Alvarez produced,. Blah, blah, blah.

Show me.

I’m not saying there’s no way to get anything in the way of a hotel in South Bend in September, but the hotels here have all been sold out since December, I’m told.

Of course, first Georgia fans have to get tickets, and the ticket priority breakdown hasn’t been released yet as I understand it. The Bulldogs will receive 10,000 tickets from Notre Dame. But based on the buzz and feedback I’ve been getting from Georgia fans, it sounds like more like 40,000 are planning to come that second weekend in September.

Hopefully we aren't opening up the remodeled stadium with essentially a neutral site game.

They get 10,000 tickets among the 84,000+. If a ND fan sells a Dawg fan their ticket, they are disowned.

I was at that Texas game, and a whole bunch of Domers took the pay day. It was pretty obnoxious, but I was getting offered 6-10X what I paid from my coworkers in Dallas so I get it. I unfortunately wouldn't be surprised to see the crowd have 30k+ UGA fans, especially after the 4-8 season, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

This better not look like Nebraska in 2000

The only concern I have is the disgruntled alumni/old folk that have season tickets are going to sell these tix to Georgia fans for big profit, as a way to voice their displeasure with BK and JS.

There could be a lot of Bulldog faithful in the stadium. It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing for them.

Yup. It's the first time in a couple generations that Georgia has played above the Mason-Dixon line. That's a once in a lifetime thing.

Exactly. We see it time and again. First trip to Notre Dame, and the fan base for the opposition comes en masse. Add to the disappointment from last year, this is a recipe for a home away game...
