Bryant finished the season with 5.4 yards per carry to Cam's 3.6. Spin it however you want, but Bryant should have been getting carries over Cam this year. Both had over 50 carries and each with 1 fumble.

This isn't hard to spin. Bryant's average is buoyed by garbage time against Southern Cal, and the opener against Rice to a lesser extent. He had carries in eight other games and in none of them did he top the 5.4 average. In fact he only had a game with a 5.0+ average of multiple carries once in that stretch.

I think there are about a hundred problems with this team more important than the third-string back getting carries over the second-string back. Especially since, after the running back corp settled itself out with Folston as the #1 guy, there was a stretch of Folston getting 104 carries to the combined 31 for his back ups. For what it's worth, McDaniel saw his carries drop 50% from last year. It's not like Kelly gave him the ball very often once Folston won the job outright.

In 2015 it would be nice to see Bryant and Folston go to work in a run-first spread option, but that requires Zaire to win the job over Golson.

If you watched the Syracuse, Arizona State, and Northwestern games, Cam wasn't a very good in pass protection either.

Say What? You realize that Cam was calling out the blitzes in the second half of the ASU game when we actually started to pick them up, right? I agree that he struggled a few times during the NW game but damn he saved Golson's ass many times during the second half of the ASU game. It was actually Folston during the first half who missed his blocks multiple times and that is why he got pulled.

But you make a very good point... "Jack Arute on Sirius" isn't a descriptive title, so it's completely reasonable that people ignored that thread relative to Folston/Bryant and would come to this one to ask a question. So my apologies.

No, those conversations are going to stop.

Rumor mongering is a gray area but in general we try to avoid allowing baseless or uncofirmed negative rumors run amok on this board. If it's something concrete, like the Frozen Five, we obviously let that discussion happen because it's discussion with a purpose.

But with something like this (or in the past, recruit drama of some sorts) we tend to lock it down or delete if it's not going anywhere. I'm not saying there isn't a situation ... there is.

What I am saying is that there is literally no information out there right now that gives a conclusion. Trust me. And once there is a resolution, people will know that information immediately. So what is there to discuss? Literally, what is there to discuss? All that people can do is rehash or make up things that aren't accurate.

So if/when there is a resolution, someone can start a better-titled thread discussing that.

That thread was more than a rumor on two guys smoking weed. It was rumors about anything related to ND football. lol

This. Exactly why I'm encouraging (and will begin enforcing) people to stop. People need to appreciate why rumor mongering when there definitively can't be any new information is counter-productive and detrimental to the board.
