Just an FYI...

RS SR Jonathan Bonner
SR Jerry Tillery
RS JR Micah Dew-Treadway
SO Kurt Hinish
FR Jayson Ademilola

SO Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa (OUT)
FR Ja'Mion Franklin (Likely OUT indefinitely)

Hopefully MTA can heal up quickly because 5 DT's is plenty for Stanford, but for the rest of the season that's not a ton of scholarship DT's when 8 is what they want to be carrying. Obviously not a huge issue, but hopefully they can stay healthy and Franklin doesn't end up being as injured as originally thought.

Well, it’s a good thing Bonner came back then, huh?

MTA is out for pretty much the whole season. Might get him back for the last couple of games or bowl game.

There was a part where he was asked about losing to Stanford three years in a row. He didn't come out and say it but he definitely implied that we lost those games because of our own mistakes and not anything that Stanford necessarily did. Well coach figure out how to clean up and curb stomp these guys.

For the first time in a while, the Stanford defense doesn't scare me. Odebo is a really good DB, but he can't cover both Boykin and Claypool.

Their O line hasn't done a whole lot thus far for Bryce Love, and Oregon's defense is no Georgia/ Bama.

For the first time in a while, their QB scares me. He is experienced, accurate, and has a bunch of big WR's and TE's who are hard to cover.

Injuries seem like they've been an issue on their offensive line. I think they were platooning their left guard position with Sarell and another guy, and both missed time with an injury. Their center and right tackle missed some time with injuries too. They've had guys playing all over the place, it seems.

The right side is a bit tricky and may be a key for the game. They have played Herbig at RT a few times this year with their RT Hall injured, and it's not good. He's no where near as dominant at tackle and their backup RG was less than spectacular. If Hall is healthy and ready to play, it gives them an above average RT, Herbig moves back to RG and is dominant, Burkett is back from injury and is a great center, Fanaika or Sarrell if he's back from injury at LG (Fanaika has played well) and Walker Little at LT who is young but talented.

Tillery going up against Burkett and Herbig in the middle is going to be interesting. Herbig is a pig and he gets after it. Tillery gets up for big games and scouts will be watching this one closely. Coney better get ready to fight these guys too.

Honestly don't think we will have a problem scoring on them my biggest concern is stopping Costello from sitting back in the pocket and picking us apart.

He doesn't pick anyone apart really. He throws jumpballs to tall receivers.

KPENN, that avatar is going to give me either nightmares or laughing fits. Not your hockey team, the mascot.

Re: big bodied receivers getting jump balls, I think we have some big DB's that might have something to say about that strategy.

I am looking forward to watching Stanford wrestle Alohi Gilman for the football.

This notion that Costello is Baker Mayfield is making it's rounds. He's had two games this year with below 60% comp pct. and isn't a DT QB to make up for it. He's a big kid but a statue. Has a strong arm but a slow release.

A lot of this coming from this last week where his comp pct. was high. If someone has actually watched their games, this is not a deadly "accurate" or "timing" passing attack. They struggle mightily to get the ball to their other WR's (not named Whiteside), because of it. It's very much a run, run, seam route. Run, run, jump ball. Rinse and repeat. I like the idea, Jamie at ISD brought up on Power Hour, of man coverage with trail technique from our DB's. If Costello is going to create big plays, make him hit a spot or throw a good ball.

Watching PTI:

Kornheiser picked ND, and of course Wilbon picked Stanford, but he couldnt just do that, he had to throw in that Stanford has won 7 out of the last 9, and ND struggled against Ball State and Vandy.

I love it when the media uses historical stats in college football. You know, because all those 9th year seniors are still on the team, so that makes stats like these relevant.

The only thing you said that caught my attention was you admitting that you still watch PTI... THAT is surprising. Forgot that show still existed.

Herbstreit just stated that Notre Dame has a championship level defense. I think the defense is close to that, but not there just yet. Herby also just hinted that he expects ND to win...

Question:

Biggest reward for winning? #2 behind the Natty and above Oklahoma. If we win against Stanford there's absolutely no reason we don't roll through the rest of our schedule.

Most pressure on him to win? I'd say it's not even the highest this year. More pressure on BK in the Michigan game.

I would put this one behind the OU game.

My wife is getting up for this game. She typically enjoys the campus and visiting more than the actual game, but last night she was asking what time we were leaving, if she needed to wear green, would there be any drunk Stanford fans sitting next to us she needed to be prepared for. lol

Man, I hope he comes out of the gate strong. Herbie? You mean the guy that picked us to lose to Vandy and Wake? I guess with Book at QB he's all-in huh?

Incorrect.

Damn you Herby, NOW he is picking ND to win?

FWIW (which isn't much), he picked us this past weekend over Wake, with a lot of national "experts" hinting at an upset with the noon kick.

I also saw a video he posted on his Twitter breaking down the noon games and he said his biggest takeaway from all of the games was Ian Book and our offense, so he might be a bit more bullish on ND than he was post-Ball State.

I'd wager on your wife in that scuffle over those drunk nerds

If you find any of these, please bring them in for testing, we're still unsure if there really exist Stanford Fans. Also, tell her they'll probably be wine drunk, and want to discuss politics.

(in all honesty, how many Stanford fans actually show up in southbend? They don't really go to their own home games after all...
