Flutie might cream his jeans watching Book
Book is about 200x better than Brandon at making the read on options and RPO's
I don't know if Book playing as the primary QB makes the ceiling on the offense significantly higher, but I think there's an argument to be made that it would raise the floor, based on what we've seen to this point.
If Book starts against Stanford, I have a 100% belief Flutie will text Book asking him to send pics in a mid-rif, cut-off tee.

Mixing up reps in practice - but no confirmation on who will play when and how much.
I wonder if BW gets snaps? This should be interesting. I've been a BW supporter through all of this but if it's Book's turn then I'll be behind him 100%.
The Notre Dame play calling does not often suit
Wimbush's strengths. Many times one wonders
with the play selection --why not play Book ?
I do not think that Kelly's style of coaching
nor his control preferences allow him
to fully live and die with Wimbush
and this cannot but undermine Wimbush
to some extent.
There have been ample times to give
Book some series and they have not
shaken it up yet.
It is good to be less than transparent with
WF and the press
Yet,the team and offensive players especially need to
know.
The biggest danger is that if we win ugly again
with Book. Our defense and kicking game continues
to play well but our offense is mediocre as it has been
for 10 of 12 quarters.
You risk having 0 quarterbacks rather than two
with Stanford and Vtech up next.
The upside is both quarterbacks play well
vs WF and Stanford has a much more difficult
game preparation for their defense.
Kelly is visibly giving play calls
in many key situations. I
do not think that even Long has
full control of his OC role.
I do not find flutie as bad as many fellows here do
I actually hear him often saying in his contructive
criticisms of ND---heck why aren't these guys better
than they are ? which many nd loyalists
often ponder ourselves?

Ideally, they give BW the first drive since it’s been the most efficient & successful thus far. Then, hand the keys over to Book and see him run the short-to-intermediate stuff. Gotta think that could initially catch WF unprepared as well.
First of all, I thought you had written a poem when I first saw this post. I blame my creative writing class that I have to take this semester.
As to the bolded: When have you seen Kelly visibly calling plays? I can't recall a time. I think you are just taking him talking into his mic and saying he's calling plays. But I'd argue he hasn't been calling plays. His demeanor on the sidelines the past 2 years is way different than when he was definitely calling the plays every year before.

I’ll say this about the QB situation. If Notre Dame goes with Ian Book moving forward it’s both ballsy and refreshing.

Not enough teams willing to make a change without the impetus of a loss. Shouldn’t be that way. maybe they 'reverse roles' for this week.
Book is the primary QB, with Wimbush coming in for certain situations. Maybe limiting Wimbush makes him more efficient, while Book provides a nice bed of consistency through out the game.
The end result could be higher offensive output.
